Renowned Engineering College in MP

A decent college for a Middle class family student who can get placed into TCS upon hardwork. Fee is very less as compared to other engineering colleges. Location is feasible for those who are living in MP and the external expenses are also affordable.

Course structure is not so rigurous. There are 2 semesters in a year which makes it 8 semesters in 4 years for Bachelor of Engineering Course. Students are just focussed to pass the examination. There is no practical learning imparted to the students and the Midsems, Internal and External examinations are just a formality.

There are no internship opportunities provided by the college. The students themselves have to search for a company in which they intend to do the internships. TCS is the heart and soul recruiter of the college which picks up students in bulk and providing them with a package of around 3.5 lakhs. Every 1 per 5 students gets placed and the rest remains unplaced.

The only mega event celebrated in college is TechFest which composes of various competitions such as Assemble Dissemble, Robotics, Treasure Hunt etc. Apart from that events are just for the name sake.

Fee structure is very much feasible for a middle class family. Per year fee is around 1.2-1.5 lakhs per year which makes it around 6 lakhs for 4 year course and accommodation and travelling expense would mostly cost around 5-10k per month.

A scholarship facility is provided by the college in case the Income of family is less than a certain limit. A yearly scholarship of 50000 is provided to such students. Moreover if you Excel in semester examinations, some amount of scholarship is provided by the university.

A decent amount of extracurricular activities are encouraged by the college including basketball, volleyball, cricket and football where people from different college come and participate. Even the college team participates in other college's events.

Hostel is very poorly built. There are 3 floors in hostel. Each room is shared by 3 people which should be shared by 2. Bathroom facility is common which is also not very much maintained. Hostel food is a complete blunder where people easily can get food poisoning.

There is no such Alumni base of the college and the students find it hard to connect with an alumni. However an Alumni day is organised each year which entertain a very few entries. However, the college has created a Alumni Portal recently where Alumuns are now registering.

I wrote MP-PET examination which fetch me a rank of around 7300 post which I had to appear in an online counselling. Upon appearing in online counselling, I first got IPS Academy Indore (Mechanical), but I applied for upgradation which finally landed me to Oriental Institute of Science and Technology (Mechanical Engineering).

Faculties teaching in the college are very poor. They are mostly the ones who themselves are studying in the same college for Post graduation and simultaneously Teaching in the college. They have very less or no industrial exposure and just teaching to earn a pay.
