College review

The college discriminates among the students a lot. Girls staying in hostel have time restrictions whereas boys don't. The rooms in boy's hostel are three sharing with showers and big mirrors whereas the rooms in girl's hostel is four sharing with very less facility in the washroom. The college campus is kept clean. Overall I would say the college is not that great of a choice.

I feel the course curriculum should be updated as what we are learning now are the old methods and concepts which are not been used in modern days. As far as exam structure is concerned, I feel that the way it is conducted is fine. We're given a prescribed syllabus which we have to study and the entire syllabus is divided into different modules. So it is easier to study and answer the questions accordingly.

There's only good placement opportunities for computer science and information science students. Rest other branches are not given that many opportunities as the IT branches are given. Yes, my college did provide an internship. But it was more like a technical training than an internship. No stipend was given to any student. Rather students had to pay Rs. 5000 for the internship.

1. College fest- it is an inter-college fest that is conducted in the even semester for the students to get to know and become interactive. 2. Electoblast- it is a departmental fest held in the month of October where students of the department take part in various competitions to showcase their talent.

The fees for non-karnataka students is a about 2.08 lpa and for Karnataka students is 80000 pa. The fees structure is feasible. There is also a Management quota whose fees structure is a little higher than 2.08lpa.

There's scholarship facility only for students coming from farmer family and lower cast. Sometimes these students don't even need to pay any fees and some students pay as less as 20000 per annum. Otherwise there's no scholarship opportunities for other students.

There are extracurricular activities such sports and college cultural activities. But overall there are not much of extracurricular activities done. The labs are well equipped and large to accommodate a lot of students.

Hostel infrastructure is quite good but the facilities that were promised to us before joining were not delivered to us. The food quality was not that great. The warden discriminates a lot with non-karnataka students and harass us a lot.

There's no such alumni network and professionally no senior is that helpful. There has hardly been 5 batches who have passed out from this college who are not very interactive. But if you know the seniors personally they're quite helpful.

The first step was the common entrance test COMEDK after which there was a counseling held to get a seat in the college based on the entrance test ranking. After selecting the college a demand draft was submitted on the counseling spot and the rest of the fees was submitted to the college before the last date of admission. In the college, all the marksheets and other documents were verified and kept with the college. Thereafter, the entire admission process was done.

The college faculty is not that great. Some of the senior faculty are very experienced and teach quite good, but as far the junior faculties are concerned not everyone's teaching techniques are good. There's a lot of discrimination done with students who come from other states to study here. The syllabus is also not finished on time and the students are asked to study on their own for the remaining syllabus.
