Goods and Bads of AKGEC

There are always pros and cons of everything, even in this college. Pros: The college is filled with good faculty. The infrastructure of college is quite amazing. The college provides individual courts for every game. Different hostel for every year students. There's no uniform in the college. Discipline is first. Cons: No fests. They don't allow your medicals even the reasons are valid.

The content taught is same throughout each college affiliated to AKTU, it's the teaching ability of faculty that makes the real difference. There are 3 internal pen paper examinations and 1 external in each sem, I personally feel that if you are willing to study on your own, so many examinations won't let you do it.

The placement is good, many named companies come each year and selects many students who are capable of doing their jobs, the job opportunities are very high, as the members of management department are from defence background mostly they welcome Indian Navy, Indian Army each year. Internships are only provided to limited topper students who are achieving highest marks in their respective branch. Around 20-25 out of 150 get the internship, others have to do internship on their own. Since I'm an average student, I'm not given the opportunity to showcase my talents, so I'll be doing internship somewhere outside.

The fest does not takes place, this place doesn't allow any famous celebrity to come in the college. There are various societies that arrange various events throughout the year that you've to see. Unlike other colleges this college is really bad in case of organising fests and other big events.

The fee structure throughout every college of AKTU is same so there's no question of fee being feasible or not. Other colleges in same fee provide so many other facilities but not here. Comparing to other colleges I feel the fee would be a little more expensive.

The college gives opportunity to the student whose family background is not strong enough, all you need is to fill the form, provide the required documents and the students get the scholarships depending upon their castes. General student get around 56k. OBC student get around 60k SC/ST get around 1.25 Lakhs.

The college organises sports fest every year once which goes on for around 1 month. More than 12 games are held for both boys and girls. Various labs are there of different branches, that allow students to build their technical knowledge. There is different lab for the students who have innovative minds, who find more creative ideas. College allows the students to participate in different events taking place in different colleges and provides funds for the preparation.

The hostel's infrastructure is brilliant, the ventilation is brilliant because of the design of building. With high fee of around 1 lakh per year they do not provide ACs otherwise the hostel is good, beside hostel the ground is there and the size of ground is good. The hostel is kept clean throughout the year, no issues are there in case of facilities, gym is provided, library is there, the food in mess for 4-5 starting months would be nice but with passing time the quality will keep degrading.

Senior students are very helpful in every possible way, they allow good fluent interaction with juniors, unlike in other colleges. Seniors provide help in every field, if they are not capable of helping they'll introduce you to someone else who is capable of helping you.

There are 3 ways: 1st is to get admission through AKTU entrance paper. After pen paper examination there is online counseling procedure, after completion of the counseling procedure, document verification takes place in the college for a limited period, all you need is to provide the required documents that are mentioned on the official website of college. 2nd is on the basis of JEE Mains rank. 3rd through management quota.

The faculties are good for the first year as the department of each and every branch is same, and on the basis of 1st year results of student college ranking is decided, maybe that's the reason that they work really hard. The faculties of many branches are brilliant for their method of teaching, but in my department (civil) most of the teachers are not good enough to clear the basics of students.
