It is one of the best places to live among all the engineering colleges of India. The campus is beautiful and exotic with a lot of greenery and fresh air. The only negative thing I find is the amount of drug abuse. Even though smoking and drinking is strictly banned in the campus, it happens on large grounds. Although punishments are harsh if one gets caught, the administration has not done enough to stop it. But this condition is found in every single college of India and is disheartening.

The course curriculum is one of the best in India as I have compared it with other instituitions. Covers all the major courses and topics. Gives opportunity to choose from number of disciplinary courses. The exam structure and marks distribution depends on the teacher with some guidelines.

Placements and job opportunities are terrific but they depend on your branch. For example the opportunities for CS students are very high compared to mechanical or chemical engineering students because of the trends. Placements depend on a lot of complex factors but your skills are must. We have an excellent probably the best internship scheme. We are the only ones who graduate with atleast an 8 month of professional experience. We don't have to apply directly for internships as the college does that for us. The allotment is based on CGPA. The stipend again depends on your branch and the company. Stipend ranges from 8k to 120k per month.

We have 3 main college festivals; the cultural festival called Waves, technical festival called Quark and sports festival called Spree. Waves comes around October end, Quark around mid February and Spree around March end. These are very famous festivals and we see huge participation from across the country. Apart from these we have branch related national and international events which are not periodic.

The fee structure is quite expensive. The tuition fee increases by atmost 15% every year. The fees includes the tuition fee, hostel and electricity fee, mess fee. Apart from these, we have to pay for the internship program of the college for 2 internship.

The college offers loan facilities by SBI bank branch within the college upto 20 lakhs. There are 2 scholarship programs, one is merit based and other is merit cum financial status based. These scholarships are applied only on the tuition fees.

There are almost all extracurricular activities like sports, music, dance, arts,etc. The labs are well equipped and well maintained. The sports facilities are terrific. The cricket ground is managed by the BCCI.

Hostels are compulsory in our college. Hostels were single occupancy until last 2 years. Now the new hostels are double occupancy. The facilities are fantastic with electricity, water, lan network, wifi, badminton grounds, common room with TV, table tennis, carrom,etc. Proper cleaning is done every day for the corridors and washrooms.

We have the best alumni network in the world. Go to any place in the world and you will find a fellow BITSian ready to help. The seniors are more than helpful. There is a friendly environment in the campus among juniors and seniors which is very helpful.

First I gave the entrance exam and cleared all the eligibility criteria. Then filled the admission and preference form on the college's website. I had to go through 4 rounds of selection before I was selected to the chemical engineering course.

All the professors have ongoing or completed Phd. They are hired after vigorous interviews by senior professors which makes them one of the best facilities in Indian engineering colleges. Some professors are not as good as the top faculty in terms of teaching but they have the knowledge nonetheless.
