Remarks

The negatives of this institute are only that management don't feel like they are normal humans and the infrastructure of institute is not upto the mark. But all the positives overcome these negatives our college shines as one of the best engineering institute of North India with its tag of "Institute of National Importance" .

Course Curriculum Overview

4

1. Curriculum in our institute is a bit outdated and needs to be updated very quickly. Practices like lab file record and tutorial assignments are still prevailing here. 2. This kind of situation is there in almost every NIT system institute and graduates from these instituitions lack up to date knowledge of industrial needs. 3. There is semester system in our institute with each semester lasting about 5-6 months and two major examinations held in each semester. Mid-Semester Exams - 20 Marks End-Semester Exams - 60 Marks Teacher's Evaluation - 20 Marks That makes total of 100 marks. No. Of subjects in each semester is usually 9-10. About 6 theory subjects and 3-4 practical subjects depending upon your branch.

Placement Experience

4.5

1. In 3rd year internship opportunities are provided by institute and companies come to offer students internships. But only 15-20% of all students get these internships. 2. In final year many companies visit institute to hire students and about 80-90% students get placed even before they complete their graduation.

College Events

3

1. Avishkar and Gnosiomania- It's our annual tech-fest in which numerous events are organised and also many motivational speaker come to share their thoughts with us. 2. Culrav- It's our cultural festival which last about a week and different events are organised related to arts, dance, music, etc. 3. Renaissance- It's an entrepreneurship event in which speakers share their experiences related to entrepreneurship. 4. Prosang- It's very new event of institute started in 2018 only and is related to robotics and aeroclubs exhibition.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee Structure is very similar to that of IITs and also has income based fee scheme with 3 groups of income slabs that provides major relief to those students which come from lower sections of society. 1. Income less than 1 lacs - 100 % tuition fee off 2. Income less than 5 lacs and greater than 1lacs - 90% tuition fee off 3. Income less greater than 5 lacs. --Normal fee around -- ?2 lacs per annum.

Fees and Financial Aid

Institute has income based fee system which is due to the fact that it's a government institute. Also students who meritorious are given scholarship from institute apart from there fee rebate. Other than this students can take one scholarship at a time of their choice.

Campus Life

3.5

There are different clubs for different kinds of extracurricular activities which are runned by us only and supervised by faculty incharge Sports infrastructure is there but it is not properly maintained and lacks basic equipment. Labs are not properly equipped and still runs decade old machines also assistants in lab are cynical old.

Hostel Facilities

3

It's a completely residential type of institute and about 95-96 % of students reside in hostels of institute apart from local students who are day scholars. Although there are 7 different boys hostel and 2 girls hostels but none of them is in proper condition. Rooms which were meant for single accomodation are shared with 2 students and similarly triple shared room are now 4 shared ones. Increase in seats and lack of rooms is creating this problem even worse.

Alumni/Alumna

The only thing that shines in this institute is the quality of students that join this institute and it's strong alumni network. Seniors here are the most friendly and very helpful. They help there juniors in every way possible. Alumni of our institute can be seen everywhere occupying very good positions and always come forward for institute and newly graduates.

Admission

1. Science Stream students like me who had Mathematics as their 3rd major subject along with Physics and Chemistry, give the National Engineering Entrance Exam known as Joint Entrance Examination or JEE. 2. JEE comprises of two exams ie JEE Main and JEE Advanced. On the basis of JEE Main scores ranks are given to students and on the basis of these ranks students can take admissions in NITs, IIITs, GFTIs , etc. Similarly on the basis of ranks in JEE Advanced students can take admissions in IITs. 3. I gave JEE in 2018 and got decent ranks in both JEE Mains as well Advanced, but rank in JEE Advanced was not enough to get my preferred branch in IITs so I went with MNNIT Allahabad which is best NIT in North India.

Faculty

3.5

1. Faculties in our institute boasts themselves to be one of the best among all NITs and they also carry many degrees and achievements with them. Many of them carry 40+ years of experience and have taught thousands of students. But still something is there which lacks and they fail to justify their experience. 2. You will find all kind of professors here and it's upto you from whom you want to learn something new and grab knowledge. 3. All you can sum up from this that good academics doesn't make you a good teacher/mentor.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be a software developer. The faculty are very kind and helpful. Almost every faculty member has completed there post-graduation from various established colleges. The examination scheme is a little bit slow here. Students can pass their semester exams if they are paying at least 45 per cent of their concentration.
