Review of an Engineering Institute

Overall college was good for academics and study. Students could get knowledge and technical exposure as faculties were good and knowledgeable, but after completion of graduation, in real industrial world students has to fight on their ownself. They have to find jobs on their own. No alumni, no placement cell is there to help you out.

Course curriculum designed was pretty well and suitable for an engineering course, but there could be scope to make it more practical. There are total three numbers of written exams in one semester, two are mid-semester examination and one is end-semester examination. There is one Viva Examination at the semester end.

Placement cell was not upto the mark as I would say, not much placement opportunities were provided to the batch. Most of the students were struggling to get jobs at the end of course. Only some sort of students were placed in some industries, rest were finding jobs by ownself.

(1) Rhapsody : It is an annual cultural program, where different dance, singing, ramp-walk programmes are organised. (2) Sports-Fest : It is an annual sports festival, where cricket, football, vollyball etc outdoor sports and few indoor games are organised. (3) Tech-Fest : It is an annual Technical festival, where different technical talents get chances to show their skills and knowledge.

Fees seems quite high, annual fees shall be paid in two installments each at the start of semester. Institute shows only tuition fees in their manual, but along with tuition fees, Examination Fees, Library fees, personal development fees etc other fees were taken, which costs around 8-10K extra on tuition fees.

I don't recall any scholarship/loan facility provided to us during our academics. But, there were certain government scholarship were available for SC/ST/OBC students, for which college was helping to apply and other procedures.

Extracurricular activities and sports are organised once a year through annual program named Rhapsody, Sports-Fest and Tech-Fest. Labs were good and at par the quality required to carryout practicals for curriculum designed.

There was not much exposure to alumni in college. No interaction session with alumni were organised during academics. Seniors were quite helpful during academics and all the events were organised with intervention of both seniors and first year students.

ACPC is a commission worked for Admission in professional courses in Gujarat. After HSC Examination result declaration, Student has to register for Admission in ACPC website. After completion of registration, Merit rank would be given and students has to enter choice fillings for thier choice of college in gujarat. Based on merit rank and choices given, students would be assigned a college. If students accepts the college assigned, they have to make a fee payment and confirm the college, they obtained.

Most of the Faculties are well qualified for an engineering College. They know proper way of teaching and possess good teaching experience. Their knowledge and participation towards students' learning was always appreciated.
