Students are always seen involved in other activities apart from academics too.studying here and being here is good. Although it would be great if college provide hostel accommodation.
Entrance Preview
iI got eligibility for this college through an entrance exam conducted by guru gobind singh indraprastha university and my rank was 14,387. I opted for ece branch as my field of study. The reason for me behind choosing this college is because it has got great environment with students from different parts of delhi and ncr region. There is a 60% reservation for students belonging to the sikh community. Guru tegh bahadur institute of technology (gtbit)'s infrastructure certainly looks well maintained. The classrooms are big and spacious and the benches are comfortable. We are provided with book-bank facility wherein you'll get all the books needed for the entire semester which has to be returned after the exams.
Course Curriculum Overview
Gtbit offers the courses through its various departments such as department of computer science & engineering department of information technology department of electronics & comm. Engineering, department of electrical and electronics engineering and department of applied sciences and engineering.the curriculum is pretty much similar to other universities across india covering all the aspects of defined syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
We have been offered internship at embedded system by the college itself as the college is recognized for being an ibm excellence center.Although, training from other government recognized institution like doordarshan, bhel and others was also offered based on the interest.
Placement Experience
The placements are very good with 70-80% students getting placed in companies like infosys,thoughtworks, hcl,standard chartered, syntel, itc, and nucleus etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees you need to pay while studying at gtbit is roughly around rs.80,000 - rs. 90,000 for first year and around rs. 70,000-80,000 for the rest of the years.Although, students are being provided with various sort of scholarship based on merit, reserved, financial or other benefactors.There is a security amount of around rs. 12,000 which is refundable at the end of the course.
Fees and Financial Aid
I din't received any scholarship but various scholarships are available. It involves a scholarship for sikh students as well as students with good academic records and for those belonging to minor caste.
Campus Life
The crowd here at gtbit is super awesome with lots of extra-curricular and cultural fests.Lots of places popular for hangouts around the college where students are seen often.
Hostel Facilities
Although the college does not have a hostel of its own to accommodate the students that are not from delhi. But cheap pg options are available near the college at least in my case.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a currently active group of alumni at which seniors and passed out guys are actively communicate with each other involving various job opportunities and other stuff.The seniors are very co-operative here at gtbit in my experience.
Exam Structure
Semester wise structure has been followed as well as across the university with 6-8 subjects per semester over 8 semester.
Faculty
The college has got great faculty with highly qualified professors as well as young staff putting a lot of efforts into their job.The college is known for its highly qualified lecturers and professors along with efficient admin faculty.
