Remarks
The environment in the college is the best I've seen or experienced. It is located right down the hills which makes the atmosphere more pleasant. The climate is really good in the area. The campus is maintained with utmost care.Industrial visits, culturals, symposium and other celebrations are the drawbacks in the college. Because there aren't much of it, sadly. Being situated under a hill sounds cool but the drawback in this is that it's a remote place and the student's have to travel for around 45mins in order to get to the main city during weekends. 45mins isn't much, but the transportation isn't frequently available around the area.
Course Curriculum Overview
Sri krishna college of technology, Coimbatore is an Autonomous Instituition. So the syllabus and curriculum is revised regularly and is up to date. The pattern of the weightage of internal marks and the end sem examination is properly balanced out so that the students won't be carrying a heavy load on their back. And all the study materials for the exams are published to the students via Google classroom. Everything is digitalized which helps a lot. Exam structure depends upon each subject. But it falls, mostly, into two categories. 1. Internal marks, i.e. Continuous Internal assessment (CIA) 1,2 & 3 are consolidated to 20 marks. And the additional work such as assignments, mini projects, case study add up to another 20. And internal marks totally add up to 40 + 60marks for the end sem examination. 2. Internal exams, i.e. CIA 1,2&3 consolidated for 20m and the additional work weighs 40m which adds up to 60m. This sums up the end sem exam to be consolidated for 40marks. The result will be published in grade points
Placement Experience
Internship is mandatory for all the courses in this college and is part of the curriculum. I've not yet taken up the intership but as far as I heard internship has provided the students with a lot of exposure and work experience.
College Events
This is where the college goes down. The events celebrated in the college are very minimal compared to other colleges. There isn't much of celebrations or industrial visits being conducted which becomes a major drawback of the college.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is expensive compared to the other colleges. If the hostel facilities are to be enjoyed, then it becomes very expensive. However, the instituition gives students the time of a semester to pay the fee in full.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students are offered with loan with almost 50% of the total fee. Scholarships are offered to the students who apply for it, however, it is offered only to those students who belong to certain castes.
Campus Life
There are clubs in the college which helps the students in developing their skills in their respective areas of interests. Labs are properly maintained with high speed wifi/internet all over the campus. The problem here is that sports isn't given much importance in this college. Only minimal attention is given to the sports.
Hostel Facilities
Most of the blocks are well constructed and properly maintained with good facilities such as high speed wifi. But 1 or 2 blocks are very poorly maintained as they're really old compared to the other blocks.
Alumni/Alumna
As far as I've seen, Senior students help the juniors whenever the juniors need help. A lot of us have even conducted workshops so that the juniors would be able to identify what domain they're interested in and that they'd get a basic idea of their forthcoming years of experience in the college as well as in work.
Faculty
Most of the facilities are really helping in every possible way. They're friendly and supportive, not just in the academic area but also encourages the students to take part in a lot of events and activities. And to develop skills by building projects.
