Review of IIIT Dharwad

The college life is fine as compared to how it was a year or two ago. Hoping that the life of students improve once the campus is shifted to the permanent campus as the hostel fees would reduce as well as external expenses and sports would be available.

It has a good course curriculum which include labs as well. These courses are all important for us to study as these topics are picked after thorough research. The exam structure is of mid-sem of 50 marks and end-sem of 100 marks along with practicals will be evaluated to 10 point scale.

Placements and job opportunities in our college is limited as our college is pretty newly established. We need to find good placements or job opportunities out of the campus. Only computer science based companies visit our college.

Every year fests will be conducted in our college, also various workshops are also conducted. In every sem two days are dedicated to conduct fests, these fests contain very good events which improves our enthusiasm towards technology and also improves our overall development.

The fee structure is feasible, its around 2 to 3 lakhs per year. The tuition fee is around 56,000 and the hostel and mess fee is around 38,000 per semester. The fee may increase for the new upcoming batches.

Scholarships are provided to sc or obc students of karnataka state, the students must apply for scholarships in their own state. Loan facilities are made available from SBI in the college. The SBI staff provides assistance in availing loans.

As presently we are in a temporary campus the sports activities are limited. Whereas labs are well facilitated and maintained by the college. Extracurricular activities are also conducted by the college regularly.

The final year batch had just left the college. So should wait for some more years to know about the alumni network. The seniors who have left the college are extremely knowledgeable and friendly to others.

Through Josaa, the college is allocated to us according to the rank you get in the JEE Mains exam. After you get your result or rank in JEE Mains, Josaa(joint seat allocation authority) is an online website, where you register and fill in the choices of College.

All the faculty members are PhD graduates from IIT's. They have good knowledge of the subject and they teach well. Some of the staff are are pretty permanent and they teach really good, they are available at the college, so you can clarify any doubts you have.
