Positive - With the aid from the government, college offers free coaching classes for GATE aspirants. Negative - Infrastructure of the college is very old and dangerous. There have been many cases of ceiling plaster falling on students.

Course Curriculum is quite old fashioned and outstreamed in this college, consisting subjects which are not much needed to work in the industry nor are they much useful for entrepreneurs. Exam are conducted on semester basis and are fair for most of the subjects, though the checking and marking scheme is always a matter of debate.

Placement and Job Opportunities are not as per the expectations of a good ranked student, but is best in the state after IIT and NIT. Quite good number of companies visit college and there is almost 100% placement in CSE and IT Department. Other departments also have fairly good placement results. The college doesn't offer any internship by itself. Students have to look for internship in other colleges or organizations.

There are few student-driven clubs in the college which organise good events occasionally. Aayaam, the annual festival of the college is held in winters almost every year. In this, different cultural and technical events are organised.

Fee structure is quite good as compared to other colleges in the region, but there has been a constant hike in the fees for new admission in the past two years. College gets government subsidiary for the tuition fees.

There are only government provided scholarships based on caste system or for economically weaker sections of the society. There is one scholarship called Medhavi Chhatra Yojana, under which the government pays the fee of the student if his/her fily income is below 6lac INR. There is no loan offered by the college.

In the name of Sports, college only have a Basketball court and a good indoor Badminton court. For the rest of the sports, students have to manage the resources by themselves. Most of labs are good and have required resources. Library and labs remain open only during the working hours, but if any student wants to study after the working hours, then he/she doesn't get any help.

Since the college is one of the oldest colleges of the region, the Alumni network is one of best thing about the college. Also seniors are very helpful here; they are always ready to make extra efforts to support their juniors. The college has very strict rules against Ragging. Also, there has not been any case of Ragging in recent years, in my knowledge.

College takes admission on the basis of Joint Entrance Examination (Mains). Admission process consists of multiple rounds. I secured 14k+ rank in the exam and easily got admission in the most valued branch/department of the college, i.e. Computer Engineering in the first round itself.

Faculty staff is a mix of experienced and new teachers. In my department, there is quite shortage of faculties because some of them have to teach subjects out of their expertise. Also there is reservation policy which inhibits the improvement of quality of the faculty. Also permanent faculties remain casual in their subjects as they enjoy job security.
