Remarks
There are no much negative remarks. This is a good college for studying but when it comes to extra curricular activities and other inter college activities our college lags behind. Also students are asked to follow a particular dress code, thereby not allowing them to wear whatever they widh to.
Course Curriculum Overview
I feel the course curriculum is a bit outdated. Most of the course structures are way updated in real world. Exam structure is pretty good. We have 2 internal exams and one external exam every semester.
Placement Experience
A lot of MNCs and local companies come in for placement but the packages are not very high. Most of them are Rs.3L/A-Rs.6L/A. A lot of students do get placed at under these packages, which I feel is a good thing. No, our college does not provide any internship, students have to find on their own.
College Events
Not many events take place in college,but the ones that take place are as follows- 1. Onam celebration- A group extravagant and energetic malayali students conduct onak celebration every year in this college by which they bring a lot of traditional things of kerala into the University. 2. Cres Carnival - This is more of like a festival or carnival in which students can put up stalls of various products. It ends with a DJ night. 3. Orion - This is the most major event that take place in our college. This is the annual college day. In this a lot of students dance, sing and a lot improptu competitions take place. It is really fun
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees is really expensive, me being a computer science engineering student pay a whopping Rs. 2.5L per year just for my tuition fees alone. I feel this very high when compared to most of the colleges in our country.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college does provide a lot of scholarship opportunities. They provide great reduction for fees to students who are very needy but great in academics. They even have tied up with central government to implement all the central scholarship programs
Campus Life
Extra curricular activities are not very strong. Our labs are equipped with great infrastructure. Our sports dept is good. Our ball badminton teams are national champions. Our football team has got many titles and even our atletics team is strong.
Alumni/Alumna
Our college has a very strong alumni network. Even though the placement packages are not so great most of the passed out students are working at great levels. One of the alumni of my college was the ex district collector of my home district.
Admission
My father's friend was the dean of academic affairs in this college. It was due to him why I got admission here. I first came here and blocked my seat by giving Rs.35000 as admission fees. A week later I came to pay my first semester college fees and hostel fees. Around a month later our classes started. Admission procedures are very easy and swift. Thr first month after the college began was completely orientation programs.
Faculty
Faculty of my college are not very skilled but skilled enough to teach the basics. They are not the type of faculty who can go beyond the books and create wonders but when it comes to teaching what is there in curriculum they are good.
