Remarks

Positive: -located in an area with less distraction -large campus -good enough placements for CSE, ECE, ISE branches -good number of companies visiting the campus Negative: -Not so good faculties -High fee -Buildings are pretty badly constructed (of low quality), feels like will fall flat in a minor earthquake -Not so hi-fi loooking college

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course also known as ECE in Bachelor of Engineering, is based on the curriculum decided by VTU, Belgavi, Karnataka. The course has usually 6 theory papers and 2 practical papers each semester which further comprises of 8 semesters spread across 4 years. Exam is held at the end of every semester and questions are set by the VTU University across the state of Karnataka. One student can have maximum of 5 backlogs per year in order to move onto the next year or else 6 and more backlogs lead to year back. One student has maximum of 8 years to complete the course in normal circumstances. Otherwise he/she is given NFT certificate (Not fit for Technology).

Placement Experience

4

The placement & job opportunities are good enough considered you are "eligible" for placements. One is considered eligible when he has 60 percentage throughout 10th, 12th and engineering. Out of eligible students which is 200 out of 500 total average, 120 were placed during my batch. Ther is no internal internship as such in the college, students have to look outside on their own for any internships in the final year.

College Events

4

There are multiple events celebrated in the college such as Annual fest known as "Vismay" which goes on for 3 days every year. There are sports events every year. There are hackathon, dance competition, fashion walk, etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is considered as costly for COMEDK students which sums upto 2.5 LPA including hostel which is around 1 lakh. However, the fee is pretty low if you have taken admission via CET (for local students) which is as around 50 thousands per year excluding hostel fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarships solely for local/minor students provided by the government of Karnataka or India. There is NO scholarship from college side. The education loan can be availed from any government bank as the college is approved by AICTE and other required boards.

Campus Life

3.5

Labs are good enough for the exams and practice, you do not necessarily need your own PC. They have their own cricket/football ground, basketball court, gym (small), table tennis, etc. I must appriciate the library which lends books to the Students free of cost and has enough books.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel rate is around 1 lakhs per year and has above average facilities. Food is unlimited, given that you like it. I will rate it 7 out of 10. Girls hostel has attached bathrooms but boys have common area bathrooms. Both are inside the campus so travelling is not an issue.

Alumni/Alumna

Every year they held alumnus meet wherr6 they ask students to share their experiences. Create networks among alumunus. They are helpful for students who are studying to get idea of the outside world. They also ask students to refer freshers to their companies for interviews.

Admission

I got entrance via writing COMEDK exam, which is held in the month of May every year in Karnataka. After the results are announced, there are two rounds of councelling, usually people with good ranks book seats in top colleges but those seats are passed onto lesser rank holders in the second round of councelling as some of the students with good ranks go for other top colleges out of the state. So, it is advised to wait and always attain second round of councelling.

Faculty

3.5

The college faculty comprises of both good to average professors. But in order to score good marks one has to solely depend on self studies. I think this is the scenario with most of the colleges in Bangalore.
