College atmosphere and placements

College provides good environment to student. timings, timetable, faculty are very good, university is very spacious with plenty of trees, and leisure places like canteens, gardens.University has the best library facility

For every year we have 2 semesters as usual total 8 semesters, course consists of classes included with labs. Exam process is divided into 2 parts internal and external, external consists of end semester exam which is of 60 marks. Remaining 40 marks are for internal. Internal is divided into 2 parts 30+10, 30 marks are for mid examinations, there will be 3 mid exams for each semester in that best of 2 is considered, remaining 10 marks are for presentations, assignments etc. Labs exams also conducted for each semester.

There are good placements in the campus, major recruiters are the IT companies, like TCS, ACCENTURE,DELLOITE etc. And also some product based companies which recruit very less students. They will provide you CIR classes before placements mostly during starting of 4th year.

Every department in the university has events, for our department ECE we have I^2R, which is conducted in the month of February for 2 days every year, apart from this university conducts GUSAC carnival which is conducted every year in month of November or December for 3 days

Current fees structure in Gitam is 2,75000.when we joined in 2014 our fees structure was 1,80000 this is tuition fee and hostel fees depends on type of hostel given to you or you selected, we need to pay hostel fees monthly, fees vary between 4000-6000,6000-8000,8000-9000 these hostel fees structure was during our period in the college, now it may slightly vary.

People with good cgpa above 8 cgpa are provided with scholarship, by the university, 50,000 merit scholarship per annum will be awarded to top 2% of btech students in each university, people who got rank below 3000 in gitam aptitude test (gat) will be provided with fee exemption depending on the rank status.

Gitam conduct tech fests, youth fests, international Women's Day, National integration day, to collect funds sends to government of India towards communal harmony, gitam institute of management conducts Women's Day as mark of respect towards woman. There is cultural body in university called kalakrithi, where students can show their talents like singing, dancing music, etc. There are so many clubs in the university like GUSAC, ROTARACT, G-Studio, NCC etc.

There are 4 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels in gitam premises, There is separate hostel for 1st years. You are provided with good infrastructure. Maximum there will be 3 persons per room and minimum 2 persons, and hostels with 2 persons are of suite type. You are provided with good internet facilities with 1.5mbps speed.

Gitam alumni association maintains group of alumini networks and contacts across the globe. Seniors are very supportive they give good guidance to take the projects, they solve your doubts, they are always friendly.

During my inter 2nd year I applied for gitam university, I wrote gitam aptitude test and I secured 6040 rank in the exam as I was most interested in ECE because it mainly deals with communication, and electronics and also it deals with IC'S. I got ECE for my rank . So I choose ECE as my branch. There is no interview process for Btech.You will get call letter ,go through the admission process, process is very simple.

Faculty are very good, cooperative, responds to our doubts immediately, very friendly, helps in your research works,projects, maximum faculty has PHD, or else they have good command in the subject. They will always guide you and university has best library facility. Faculties teach you everything in the syllabus, some faculty teaches which is not in the syllabus. They always test students with their assignments, If they forgot to teach any stuff they take extra classes to teach the stuff.
