After completing my 12 the grade I was quite sure to avoid engineering and medical science courses since it is been opted out of choice by many of the students and their parents. I was looking forward to do something different that would help he society and myself. Then one of my adivisors suggested about the course psychology and its overwhelming needs uses to the people. Then the process of searching for the colleges came. Heard about ethiraj college quite a number of times and the course was available in there. Psychology is a rare course and it is been provided only in few college or universities. Finally ethiraj college topped my list and I chose it.

Psychology has immense use and it is comprised of various fields some of them are clinical, counselling, school, forensic, criminal, sports psychology etc there are are around 30 fields relating to psychology. In bachelors we will be having basic psychology(psy), bio psy, human development( child, adolescence, middle age, old age) which has the coginitive, physical, psycho social development, statistics, fundamentals of research, experimental psy, social psy, organisational behaviour, consumer behaviour, abnormal psy,health psychology, HR are the major ones.

Internships are not necessary in some departments and if they need it they can chose the company and respective organization for the experience minimum of two weeks and maximum of a month is required to complete it and the certificates are provided with their proper training.

One has to complete masters in the course of psychology to get the proper benefits of it hence no campus is been up to bachelors in psychology however other departments has campuses for the placements and job opportunities the salary package ranges from 10 k to 30 k companies such as TCS, Wipro, are recruiting the employees.

The odd semesters (1,3,5) has interdepartmental events which is named as arambh and maithri one cannot miss these events since it is happening on the large scale events as folk western and fusion dance are the most desired by everyone adzap, mime, singing solo karaoke are the on stage events off stage events are eurekha, t shirt designing, face painting photo stories, creative writing etc in general aarambh is for 1 years and the mathiri for the rest to make the events known to everyone on the other hand even semester has inter college cultural which facilitates for each and every college students .

The fee structure is affordable we will be paying it semester wise almost all the expenses can be covered within 20000 for all the departments and less than that in case of self supporting( eve college) if one is opting out for the aided stream the fees can even be less within 3000.

There are no loans, but scholarships can be provided on the basis of ll students background and their marks .

There is no discrimination nor ragging ethiraj college is one that excels in all the aspects as academics and other activities sports day are conducted periodically at nehru stadium it also facilitates the studies for other state students and they are loving it for the opportunity to save time if they are given college hostel .

I would rate it 8 on 10 where the hostel rooms are good even though it is sharing of 3 the sanitary facilities are taken care of them the college hostel has limited seats where each department can have only 4 or 5 students maximum expense of 20000 per yea

Alumni meet and the interactions are held in a while and they share their knowledge about the further studies and the opportunity for the career seniors are cooperative and friendly in all aspects of the academics and extracurricular activities some students are the NGO members and they facilitates the membership for the interested students .

We have two internal exams which are included for semester marks faculties had planned it in such a way to make sure that we read almost everything to cover it for end semesters lab classes are happening once in a week and sometimes they overload it with

Faculty members are well skilled where they required proper completion of the masters and M.Phil. due to the passion for psychology they have doctorate in it and the institution is helping them to complete doctorate and they are currently working on it.
