Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bjmc is quite a creative and vast course with choices of subjects as per the interest area. However it is also required that essential resources like good labs, computers, cameras and studio are available in order to make learning easy and practical.

Internships Opportunities

No we were not provided with any internship fascility while I was in my beginning years. We found our internships ourselves or faculty helped some on their personal basis. However, when I was in my third year, the college definitely started putting efforts for freshers in making sure they get into internship program.

Placement Experience

2

Placement week is what we call job opportunities program in DME. Many companies like Cvent, Aptara, Amazon visited with other public relations and advertising job offers. It was a good effort but barely students joined the jobs. Most were not selected. And who were; they found better opportunities later. There was definitely the issue related to salary expectations.

College Events

3.5

For bjmc particularly, there were alot of events. One annual fest for all- Aloha. Which goes for 2-3 days. Even other colleges can participate. It involves various extra curricular activities like solo and group dances, bands, singing, fashion walk, photography, painting etc. And also celebrity or DJ night. For bjmc there is vritika. Which a film fest. Where we can make short films and documentaries and win prizes. Then there are other celebrations on freshers, farewell and diwali mela. Many blood donation camps, rallies and guest lectures keep happening.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible. As compared to any other private colleges who charge above lakhs per semester. DME has the slab for 72-75k per annum. And all the fascilities were provided which i did not find in other colleges like basic air conditioning, digital boards, good labs, equipments, auditorium, canteen fascility, travel fascility etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

I don't know. I never come across any news like that related to scholarship while i was in the colleges. And that's why I've never availed one. Also, I don't think there's a loan fascility that college provides itself.

Campus Life

4

Labs were good. They have even improved alot by now. College spents crores on auditorium and digital studio for bjmc. Different libraries for bjmc and law students. There were fashion society, writing and art society, dance and singing society. There was a ground for volleyball and badminton at first. But then after an year it was occupied due to construction work. There is also a tennis table in the common room. Which is barely used.

Hostel Facilities

5

There is no hostel fascility for our campus. However, it is one in our other campus in greater noida. So very few students who were in hostel had to travel all the way from there about 18 kms via college bus. I have never visited the hostel premises so I'm not sure about the quality.

Alumni/Alumna

We were very warmly welcomed by our seniors. No doubt it is a no ragging zone. Our seniors were so nice and always took our back. Bjmc was like a family. We celebrated many unofficial parties as well. Many seniors have also helped students in their academics or to find internships as well.

Exam Structure

Exams are centralised. One internal and one external examination per semester. Internal exams and practicals occur in the college itself by our own faculty. There are also provisions to reappear in case someone missed. External exams occur in the other college centres that university provides.

Admission

There was an entrance exam for indraprastha university for bjmc just like other courses. After giving the exam, the cutoff rank is generated on the website portal. All the colleges providing the course announces multiple cutoffs until seats are full. Via univers portal, we can login and make a list of colleges according to our preference and priority. After that, according to our rank, suitable college is alloted to us in every cutoff. At last, if we haven't booked a seat in any college till the process then we are directed to a spot council round. Where all the colleges with leftover seats are present and we can get the admission directly.

Faculty

5

The faculty in my college was very homely. Unlike other colleges, we didn't have strict or elder lecturers. Our teachers and we didn't have that so called age and generation gap which made learning easy and comfortable. Not only for eduction but also we have connected with our faculty on friendly basis. They were always supportive and still connected and ready to help anytime.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

Placement for Bajmc at dme are limited compared to some other professional courses. Students usually become eligible for placement opportunities or internships in the final year. There are not many direct placement with major media houses although students sometimes get industry exposure through sessions or visits .

My main aim is to become an automobile journalist that is the aspect that influenced me to choose this course. Till the date i dont feel that improvements are needed in curriculam and teaching methods. As faculty is really good in teaching and timely providing notes as it really helps students to learn effectively for theory exams and concentrate on practical skills that are needed to secure good position in reputed firms in future

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
