Our course curriculum comprises of research, theory as well as practical based teaching so students can explore the field they want to excel in. Along with the lectures, there are industrial visits to various textile industries and units to achieve hands-on experience in the industrial sector. Practicals consist of knowledge and skills necessary for applying it to the world outside. It also gives the students an idea of the competition outside and helps us prepare ideally for it.

There is a separate placement and training cell in our college which organizes placement of students in various companies like Nokia, TCS, Toppr, Infosys etc. There are almost 830 placements available. Students also undergo a special training program before joining so that they are thoroughly prepared for the position they want to work in. Many students have been placed in different companies and every year, the college collaborates with several companies so the students get an opportunity to work with them.

Industrial visits and annual excursions are an integral part of our college. Every department annually organizes a trip around the state or sometimes outside to take a break from busy routines and to relax. Along with trips and fun events, there are also small workshops organized in collaboration with experienced people. They come and conduct seminars or organize certificate courses for the benefit of us students in future.

We have a red ribbon club which is formed by the students to spread awareness against HIV/AIDS. The students who are a part of this club help the youth in educating about the causes of HIV/AIDS. We also have a blood donors club, where every year there is a blood donation camp which takes place around the campus. Apart from these activities, we also have a Fine Arts Club, Enviro Club and a Yoga Club for the students. Every club organizes an event under the supervision and guidance of the club president and club secretary.

The hostel facility and accommodation is available for both boys and girls. The hostel is governed under the supervision of group of Head wardens. They assure us safety with basic amenities for students. The hostel management makes sure that each and every child is under discipline with their own set of rules. Attendance is taken to make sure each and every child stays in hostel. Proper reason should be mentioned on the out pass as to why the student wants to leave the hostel premises. There is also a vegetarian mess service available for students on a paid basis.

The admission I got was on the basis of marks i scored in my 12th standard. The eligibility for admission in this course is minimum passing marks in 10+2 grade in either academic or vocational stream. A merit list is released by the college revealing the students who have been selected for the respective academic year. The merit list will be available on their website, or if not on their website then you need to go and check in the college personally.

The head of our department, Ms. S.P. Mythily has done her Masters and is an assistant professor as well. The other staff members and teachers are experienced with some having a M.Phil. degree. This signifies that our staff and faculty are very experienced in their fields. As of my experience, the faculty is very supportive and approachable. They help us with the smallest of doubt and make sure we learn new things every day.
