Affordable and awesome college for BA Mathematics

I completed my BA Mathematics from GMSSM. It was a life-changing experience for me there, I got a varied and good knowledge of mathematics during my whole education period which helped me a lot till now. The cultural events of the college are an added star in the college’s reputation for being a good college.

The BA Mathematics syllabus for GMSSM is of the University of Calcutta, as it provides the college with affiliation. The exams are held at respective examination centres rather than in the college itself. There are yearly examinations in BA Mathematics course, and internal examinations are also held by the college at least twice before the main exams as per their choice.

The college has an awesome life. The Student’s Union organizes a Fresher’s Welcome party to welcome the new students every year. Annual Social Function is also held which is a big cultural event where pretty famous of the artists perform. Annual Awards for Academics and Sports are also disbursed during the function. The College also has an Annual Magazine –CHARAIBETI, which is also released at the same time. The Music Department organizes various cultural programmes like Birthday of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandi, etc.

The fee for my BA Mathematics was Rs.1500, which is quite feasible for most sections of society. The fee is quite low compared to all other colleges in the locality as college aims to provide knowledge and educate as much possible.

The college has many scholarship schemes for meritorious and from the economically weaker background. SC/ST and Minority students easily get scholarships from the State Government while the Girl Students get scholarship under Kanyashree Prakalpa. Concessions in Tuition fees are also provided to poor meritorious General Category Students. Poor meritorious Students are also provided with freeships by the College Aid Fund at the permission of the Principal.

The college organizes a mega Annual Sports Day every year that goes for a period of 3 days. The winners of the Annual Sports Day participate in District Athletics Championship. The college also participates in many sports competitions like cricket, football, kabaddi on a regular basis. The college has a big sports ground to help their sportsman practice well. The college also has a well-equipped library with a variety of books needed by students in their course duration.

Admission in GMSSM is on merit basis. First I filled the application form for the college. After sometime I was called by the college as my name was in merit list. I was asked to carry my documents and complete the admission process. I did so and enrolled for BA Mathematics in the college. The reception was quite good and I didn’t need to be tired for the process, it was quite easy for me.

The faculty of the college comprises of skilled and well-qualified teachers. Some of the faculty is even PhD holder, while others are Post Graduate with years of experience in teaching their respective subjects. The teachers are also the centre of all guidance and help in the college, also the teachers are quite helpful and kind to students when it comes to academics especially.
