Most Affordable College for BA in Lalgola, West Bengal

At Lalgola College, I completed my BA in Philosophy. I had a great time as a student at the college. The Career Counselling Cell was a lot helpful in having us placed in good organisations. The faculty also is really good. And the big playground is where we used to have lots of fun after college.

The college is affiliated to the University of Kalyani, and so follows its prescribed syllabus and guidelines. The examinations are held yearly as per university norms and declared date sheet of examinations. Meanwhile, the college also holds internal examinations timely and class tests happen on a regular basis or depending on concerned faculty, to assess the preparation of the students for the university exams.

Lalgola College has a dedicated Career Counselling Cell, which aims at grooming and developing the personality of students. The Career Counselling Cell holds all the responsible tasks from training to placing the students by providing them with employment opportunities. The cell works by teaching professional skills to students to increase their academics, performance and taking out their true potential. Additionally, it is also responsible for conducting seminars, workshops, social programmes regularly in the college. The Career Counselling Cell also arranges the placements/ campus interviews for the students providing them placement assistance.

Numerous events are celebrated at Lalgola College like party held by students for their freshers, song recitation competition, Debate competition, Quiz Contests, annual functions for the enjoyment of students.

For my BA Philosophy, the fee for the first year was Rs. 1700 and the overall fee for the entire course duration was Rs. 5000 which is quite feasible, because the College was build by aiming to create a college to uplift the people of the locality area, mainly the poor and middle classes, by providing quality education at affordable prices.

The college has a very big playground for hosting sports events and functions. Also so that students can play their favourite sports like football, cricket, etc. The college appreciates good sportsmanship, it also arranges tournaments held yearly. Annual Sports Meet is arranged in the college, in which a large number of students participate every year as the rewarded prizes for winning candidates is pretty good every year. The central library of the college is well equipped with a wide variety of books on different topics and streams, and new books are added every year to the collection. Most of the books are pretty useful and most of the books needs for the course duration are available in the library.

Admission in Lalgola College is strictly on merit basis. I got admission in BA Philosophy here, as I had 88% aggregate in my 12th examination. The minimum eligibility criteria for the college is having 50% in Higher Secondary Examination. The admission process is quite simple to go through, I filled the admission form and afterwards, I was asked for a number of documents, and reserved my seat for BA Philosophy under Lalgola College.

The faculty who taught us was well-qualified, knowledgeable and skilled. Our faculty for BA Philosophy was quite good, the teachers knew well on how to teach the hardest of topics to students easily without letting students having a hard time in learning or understanding it.
