One of top colleges in West Bengal with "A" grade by NAAC

I did my graduation from Gobardanga Hindu College with B Sc(H) Mathematics. The faculty of the college is really helpful and with good academics, I had a really great experience in the college, either be the workshops I attended here, the doubts that were solved by teachers or the extracurricular activities we took part in, served with top-notch infrastructure.

Gobardanga Hindu College is affiliated by Web Bengal State University, and strictly follows the guidelines and syllabus drafted by it. The syllabus contains 2 examination papers of 100 marks each in first two years, and in the final year, 4 examination papers are there of 100 marks each, one of which shares its marks with a practical of 50 marks. All the subjects purely focus on Mathematics and a little bit of physics.

Fee structure of the college is quite feasible, as it is a government-aided college which helps even people from poor sections of society to gain knowledge and be educated. Around my time the fee ranged 3 - 4000. and it may change any time as per university guidelines and norms anytime.

Our college provides scholarship for meritorious and economically poor students, and are financially supported by the college. Such seats are limited and may provide either half or full fee concession. The students availing financial assistance in the form of scholarships or stipends from other sources are not eligible for such college scholarships or fee relief.

College is well involved in extracurricular activities and also promotes sportsmanship of students, by backing them up in respective sports of their choice. Labs are also well maintained and proper functioning. College also has other salient features like it is now a WiFi Enabled campus, a gym especially for students and computer centres for all categories of students, and the whole campus has access to the internet.

There are one boys' and two girls' hostels in our college, all have pretty good & decent infrastructure, while facilities need to be improved further like washrooms, as the hostelers are supposed to stay here for their whole course duration. The rooms are pretty spacious and the buildings are also quite airy making the rooms feel comfortable.

Half of the admission process is online itself, from the application form to declaration of merit list. I filled the application form online after the found myself meeting their eligibility criteria, then after sometime Merit list was out and luckily I got selected, after that a small interview followed by document verification was done in college itself. I was informed by the college in advance regarding the reporting date & time. I was asked to fill the registration form, provide my documents and submit a portion of my fee in advance.

College faculty is well experienced and have pretty good knowledge of the subjects, they hardly get stuck while teaching or clearing doubts of students, most of the teachers even hardly get irritated after solving same questions multiple times for students. And also motivate students to ask for doubts without thinking much. The faculty also supports students apart studies by advising regarding career and sharing the information about alumni sometimes.
