Entrance Preview
I took the entrance exam which Jamia conducts for the course M.A. (HRM). The scores are not shared with the candidates. Rather there are limited no. of seats (20) which is further divided quota wise (General, Jamia Internal, women reservation, OBC, SC/ST, etc). Luckily I was able to crack the entrance in general quota.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good and designed in a way that the students gets practical exposure along with the conceptual knowledge. It is a 2 years full-time Human Resource Management (HRM) course which is fully focused on Human Resources. There are 30 papers in total on HR.
Internships Opportunities
My internship experience was great. I had almost 10 months of hands on experience in different setup-manufacturing as well as service. The stipends are offered by the organization and depends on their policy structure.
Placement Experience
The students placement committee works hard in making PR with alumni and department also support. But the university placement committee is not much focused. Only course like Mass Com, Engineering has good connect with their alumni and regular campus placements are organized for these courses.
College Events
Alumni meet, foundation day, departmental seminars, Diwali Milan, sports day, Iftaar party, Book Mela and various seminar & summits (National & International level).
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. Its an yearly process and its really cheap for a professional course as compared to other colleges - 6500 - 7000 INR for a year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there are various types of scholarship offered based on income, reservation, merit, etc. Luckily I was a topper throughout and I use to get yearly scholarship. Plus the college fee is a minimal amount. For such a professional course M.A. (HRM) the fee at my time in 2009-2011 was approx. 6500 INR per year.
Campus Life
Everything is fantastic. Many extra curricular activities run in the organization. Seminars & summits are organized time to time. Library and book collection is really good.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel and mess both are vey good specially for females. The only challenge is the limited no. of seats. Charges for food and stay is also very less.
