Remarks
Jamia Millia Islamia is a instituition made for the minorities so it's obvious there's majority of Muslims but it doesn't matter cause there's no kind of majoritarianism or anything. I'm Jamia one thing that is unique is it's tehzeeb. It has amazing infrastructure but I think either due to lack of resources or lack of effort it lacks in some areas academically but in my opinion everything else compensate for that.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is really thorough and extensive but it's a central government University and the curriculum has become a bit outdated because it being a business degree doesn't provide us with enough corporate/industry exposure. The exam structure is really simple in a semester there are internals which include projects and those marks are then added to the mid-semester exams results and then the GPA is calculated out of it.
Placement Experience
The college does provide internship and placement opportunities. But in our case the placement cell was shut down a few years ago due to some reason and we have kick started it again this year. So we are trying to get as many organisations as possible to get onboard with us for internship and placement opportunities for students.
College Events
My university has a unified campus where all the department are under one name of Jamia Millia Islamia. So every department has a lot of events. More than 10-12 anuual fests are celebrated at a big scale. Except those we have our founder's day celebration it's a two day event also called "talimi mela" it's also quite big a deal. Except these there are a lot of small scale events too.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very feasible, even the poorest people can afford to send their children here for studies. It's easy for people from outside Delhi to get a hostel here, except that there are a lot of private hostels and pg's for students around the campus. So to sum it up it's one of the cheapest place the study.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes there are a few scholarship which can be availed. It's given on the grounds of academic excellence and a few find rounds of interview. Basically it's for the further ang higher studies. That is it.
Campus Life
In matter of sports it's amazing, we have a world class sports complex i.e, "Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi sports complex". Our sports teams keep winning and participating in competitions every now and then. We also have NCC and other facilities such as labs and stuff are also adequate and up to the mark. In this area we can say that Jamia can compete with top universities of India.
Hostel Facilities
Not opted for the hostel but have visited a few of them and also experienced that the hostel provide basic necessities and the security is top notch and the campus is easily accessible from all the hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is not that powerful and imapctful as it should be, and that's cause not much is done by the administration to keep the alumnus in contact. But the seniors are really helpful and friendly, things like ragging and bullying is almost not-existent in Jamia and is not tolerated in any way.
Admission
First filled the entrance examination form , then have the entrance exam after board results, then after a month the merit list was published , my name was in the second merit list, so after that I took all my documents and submitted them with the fees the get myself admitted in the college.
Faculty
The faculty is quite experienced and qualified and is very knowledgeable. They act as great mentors, quite helpful to the students. Most of them are PhDs or research fellows so they have their share of experience and expertise in their field. They are quite open with the students and the lectures often include discussion on worldly problems and such topics.
