talking about positive things of the college it has beautiful infrastructure there is a temple inside the college campus and a A/C food court is there. And entire college is greenery and it got award for best greenery college. Negative things is very less holidays are given. and fee is quite expensive
Course Curriculum Overview
We are studying curriculum set by VTU (visvesvaraya technological University) actually it is little bit outdated compared to present industrial requirements. But it's continuously upgrading. Exam structure is quite simple. We have 60+40 scheme. 40 for internal and 60 for external. For internlas 40 is divided as 30 marks from average of 3 internal assessment and 10 marks for assignment. Remaining 60 marks is for external where we have to write an exam for 100 marks and it will be converted into 60. And we have different credit for different subjects based on that we will get SGPA each semester. After completion of course average of all SGPA is given as CGPA.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are there in college. For mechanical less companies are coming compared to other branches. There is no internship provided for mechanical engineering students in the college. For mechanical Autolive is the one of the core company which comes for recruitment. But we can also attend placement drives of Infosys, ITC , TCS and some other companies.
College Events
There are many events celebrated in MITE Freshers Day - it's for first year students. It will be an entire day program. In nyt there will be some entertainment programs Onam- onam is celebrated every year and it's very fun to dance to Chande. And we wear traditional outfit that day Kannada rajyotsava - it's celebrated first time this year. And hope it'll be celebrated every year. There will be procession and some dances representing culture of karnataka SENTIA - it is the biggest fest celebrated in MITE it will be celebrated for 4 days. And last day we will have a DJ nyt. And second day a Bollywood singer will sing for us. It's great joy. Veloma- it's farewell for seniors. And celebrated in night time
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is quite expensive. For CET students it's quite less compared to management seat students. If you got Supernumerical quota then it is very cheap. It's around 1.2 lakh per year for CET students. Including transportation and all. If u are planning to stay in hostel. Then it may come around 2.5lakh per annum.
Fees and Financial Aid
College will not provide any scholarship or loan. U have to apply for loan separately at your own in the bank.Even for scholarship also you have to apply for government scholarship or other trust scholarships college will not provide any.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities are there. In mechanical engineering there are many vehicle building teams like Gokart, Ekart, solar vehicle, hydbrid vehicle, formula racing vehicle, Baja(all terrain vehicle) and many more. But we have to pay for the team. And for sports there are facilities available. Separate court for basketball football are there. About labs Siemens and Bosch labs are there for training purpose. And normal subject related laboratories are good
Hostel Facilities
Iam a Day scholar.but I think Hostel is costlier u can plan for PG. Because for hostel you have to pay a down payment of 20000 and it will be returned only after 4 years. And mess food is also not so good. Most of the students will go to PG after first year. Fees is around 1.5 lakh per year and for mess it is 3k per month
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is very good. Our alumnis created start-up and they are recruiting students from our college for their company. And they come to college and conducts workshops on various topics. Senior students also very helpful and more importantly there is no raging in college.
Admission
I got admission through CET which is a entrance exam. There I got rank around 35k.and completed my document verification in shayhadri college And then applied colleges for option entry. And i got this college in first round of seat allotment then I came to this college and joined for seat alloted for me
Faculty
Many Faculties are very experienced. Some are PhD holders. They know how to handle students and how to motivate us to excel in our carrier. Some faculties are quite strict. But it's not a big problem. In mechanical engineering most of faculties are friendly with students.
