Remarks

Positive- The college gives a lot of exposure and opportunities are thrown at your face if you are good enough to grab them. Negative- The schedule is very hectic and the attendance requirements are very difficult to maintain. Hence there is some sacrifice of personal life.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is a bit broad and does not focus on details too much. But at the same time it gives you an exposure to a broad spectrum and hence you can choose from a variety of options if you plan to pursue further studies. Regarding exams, there are two internals which are a set of interesting group or individual assignments testing your holistic knowledge in the subject. The activities can be as interesting as doing a play. Apart from this, there are mid-semester exams and a final end semester exam. All these tests and assignments add up to a total of 100 marks.

Placement Experience

4.5

If a student really wants a job, no matter whatever course he is from, they can land a job. A lot of big firms and corporates come for placements and they really prefer students from Christ because of their ability to handle stress and punctuality which gets inculcated because of the college schedule. The college provides us with contacts for internships, but that is just as a help and there is no formal provision. And usually there are no stipends for internships. Everyone needs to do a compulsory internship though.

College Events

3.5

The campus is a really happening place to be and it has a lot of events happening at all the times. To list the major ones, there is an intra-collegiate festival named Darpan Then there is a national level fest called Inbloom and the events are diverse enough to involve various talents and it is a really good exposure for the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is reasonable and feasible. For the facilities provided and the resources available to the students, the fee structure is quite worthy. For my particular course, the fees is 65000 per annum. And it is really worthy because a lot of workshops and external resources are provided with no extra charge.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no loan facility available according to my knowledge but there are a lot of scholarship opportunities available. They can be in form merit scholarships depending on your academic performance. Apart from this there are scholarships for being an active member of college associations and being active in extra curriculars.

Campus Life

4

The college really has a very good infrastructure and opportunities for extracurricular activities, labs, sports and everything else we expect in a state of the art facility. If a student wants to pursue his or her interests, the college will really have a space to give way to those interests. There are quiz associations, debating societies, MUN associations and a lot of other facilities. Apart from this, there is football, hockey, handball, volleyball, basketball and every major sport someone can think of. The college has hi-tech laboratories available at our disposal.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I have not opted for Hostel because the capacity of the hostels is really limited and there is no proper food facility available apart from the eateries within the campus. The area around the campus is full of accomodation facilities in forms of hostels and pg services but the official services provided is not very good.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network though they have an association and they organize events in campus, they are not connected with the student body actively. On the other hand, the seniors are really helpful and they are always there to help us with our doubts. All these interactions depend on the students ability to maintain personal relations.

Admission

There are two rounds to get into any BA course at Christ University. The first round is a written test where a candidate is expected to write two essays. The first one is a 100 word essay and the second one is a 50 word essay. The topics are generic and test your personal skills and writing skills. The test is followed by an interview testing the technical and communication skills of the candidate. Then you get an SMS within two to three days if you are selected or not. After that you need to take admission within 5 to 6 days.

Faculty

3

The faculty is quite diverse and is really experienced in their respective fields. At the same time, though they have good knowledge of the subjects, sometimes they lack in devising better methods to deliver that knowledge and teach the students in an interactive way.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
