Remarks
Nothing bad. Good points are many and I shall write more in the future. If somebody gets an opportunity to study in this college, just go for it
Course Curriculum Overview
More emphasis was given on our presentation skills. Classes were strict. Regular mock GD's and Interviews were conducted. I had 3 in-campus companies and I started my career with one of the companies. The teachers were good, they were very strict but friendly too.
Placement Experience
The placement was good and as I have already mentioned, placement provided very good companies. In fact, I started my career with one of the companies in Delhi but due to some reasons, I have to leave the company. I was given an internship opportunity at the Thyssenkrupp, Bengaluru this was also managed by the college itself. I really learnt a lot from the internship. I heard that placement of the college is really gone good now, even better than what it was when I was there.
College Events
I still remember the fun time we had during our college annual fest called Kaalrav. It is the annual feast of the college students from various colleges come and participate. We were taken for an internship to Kolkata. We were also taken for trekking to Darjeeling. We were given professional education and I am sure that my personality was really sharpened.
Fee Structure And Facilities
All I remember about the fees. 1st Year including hostel and mess INR 225,000 (2003-04) 2nd Year including hostel and mess INR 215,000. Every pennyworth. The facilities provided are second to none. I wish I could go back to my college days. SMIT is best.
Fees and Financial Aid
No, I didn't take any loan or even got any scholarship. I wanted to take an education loan but didn't take at the end.
Campus Life
SMIT it has one of the best campuses in the country. Recently visited there to see that a state of the art sports complexes has come up. I am really happy that my college is doing very good now and everybody there is happy because it gives that facilities which shape your personality.
Hostel Facilities
INR 80,000 per Year. Facilities board really good and the rooms neat and clean. And the rooms have attached toilet and bathroom. It is something like being at home with a friend. Hostels of very well protected and the guards were always on duty. And I have very fond memories of the hostel life that I spent in SMIT
Alumni/Alumna
A strong alumni network is there on Facebook. I keep on following the Facebook page of SMIT is very very vibrant.
Admission
I was from the first batch. MBA started in 2003 and I came to know about SMIT in an Advertisement. The admission was held in 3 stages. 1. Test Written 2. Group Discussion 3. Personal Interview I remember my interview ending at around 8 pm. The test was held at 11 AM. Only 30 students were selected while more than 20 were not given admission based on their performance.
Faculty
Professional and highly qualified. They were good in their research field as they often discussed research in the class. Today, I am a PhD and I would like to thank my teachers at SMIT for their contribution. Sometimes, the extra classes, which had become regular were annoying but it must have had helped the weak students.
