Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good. We used to have three quizzes and three sessional exam, out of which best two were considered for internal marks and we had one semester exam. In entire curriculum we studied almost 40 subject. The subject floated were such that subject it has better usability in industry and research as well.
Placement Experience
The institute has the separate exclusive placement cell. They conduct preplacement training for students so that students prepare themselves for placement interview. During out time, although it was recession, still in this tough times...alomst 70% of students got the job offer through campus interview and off campus as well.
College Events
There various events that happens in SMIT as well as within department. Some common events were interdepartmental well come fest, freshers program for first and the mega event called Kaalrav. Being at student of CSE, we used to havve department fest called Vaastusasmitam.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I was admitted through State quota that makes my fees little bit on lower side. My annual academic fees was approx 40000, excluding hostel and mess. In altogether, 80k to 1 lakh was the expenditure. For entire year. There are many sub section in fee like one time fee like library fee, exam fee, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
I was studying under State quota Scholarship. I had done state entrance exam called CET exam which I cleared it. In that exam my ranking was 35 in which I opted CSE in SMIT for pursuing BTech as it was the closest and near to my home.
Campus Life
The college life that we spend was golden life which we cherish even now. The gender ratio for male: female was about 60:40. We did so many things in our college life. The institute provide so many technical and cultural events where students can express their talents. The lab standard is at par with other famous institute..in some cases even better.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior were very helpful. They gave suggestions on various things ranging from academic to activities. They taught many things.
Admission
I did my entrance exam of state government. Name of entrance exam was CET exam. I cleared it with 35 position. Through Government Quota I got the admission. Also, the location of this college is near my home. I Took admission around June in 2006. Once I got the letter and notification, I went to college and filled the admission form and took admission.
Faculty
The faculties of my department are all well qualified and trained. Each one of them has their own specialization.They are friendly as well as firm. They gave their honest effort which can be easily realised from our marks.They are truly approachable to whom we can ask questions and share our problems.
