Course Curriculum Overview
Teachers are very good, helpful and friendly. There teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is updated and it includes all the latest trends and developments in engineering sector. SIkkim Manipal Institute of Technology makes students industry ready.
Placement Experience
In today’s world to get placed is quiet difficult but here in SMIT the placement statistics are increasing year after year. The highest package offered by Microsoft is 22 lacs P/A.
College Events
There are various events conducted in a year. All the department of SMIT conducts various Technical events, sports events, International conferences, workshops, participation a Racing events, cultural events and many more. The biggest cultural event of SMIT is Kalrav.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As i took admission in SMIT, after scoring good rank in Sikkim entrance test and from Sikkim quota the fees during 2007(first year) was seventy thousand rupees. During my period of study the fees structure was quite different for general and Sikkim quota students.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not apply for any scholarships or education load during my studies. Since i took admission from sikkim quota, half of the fee was paid by government.
Campus Life
Campus life in SMIT is very nice. Campus is surrounded by green beautiful mountains. The location of SMIT has it’s own beauty. College conducts tech fest every year where students gets a chance to showcase their skills making fighting robots, quadcopter’s for racing, fabricating Go Kart by mechanical students and many more.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network of SMIT is very strong. Every year college conducts an alumni meet where junior gets a chance to meet with the alumni students. Alumni network are very helpful specially for the juniors for receiving helpful information regarding internships and various companies alumni works for.
Admission
I sat for an sikkim CET entranc test in the year 2007. I got admission in SMIT after scoring good rank in the entrance examination. During my admission process when i first visited the college, i was mesmerised with the college location including the scenic beauty which adds on to have a good learning environment. In the month of July, year 2007 i took admission at SMIT.
Faculty
Faculties of Mechanical engineering department are very knowledgeable and supportive. They have a good command on their subjects. They encourage students to focus on research works and to go for publications. The classroom lecture and quality of teaching is outstanding.
