IIITA Review

Overall experience is quite good. You get fair chance in academic as well as sports. The placement is 100 percent with minimum package of 8lakh per annum. We learn development, ml etc through senior and normal academic via faculty and have good learning experience. Sometimes college schedule is very hectic but we manage somehow. Rest all good. Yeah, college is quite good :)

In IIITA there is curriculum named CCLCAA. In CCLCAA, there is three components in a semester C1,C2,C3. C1 and C2 is for continuous learning and assessment. C3 is basically C1+C2 , in which all topics taught are asked for assessment. In C1 & C2, the purposed curriculum is that you will be judged continuosly through class interaction, quizes and Assignments.At the end of each component there is review test which weighs 30% of the component in C1& C2. But, for C3 majority subject have only review Test. Some subjects devide it into two equal parts assignment/Lab test and review Test. I think the idea of regular assessment is quite good as it more focuses on learning rather than examination. But it newly implemented in IIITA and still a lot of work has to do.

I currently a 2nd year Btech Student. So, I'm not currently placed or have any intern. As per the stats of the college, the highest placement for this year is 47 lakhs with 19 lakh median. The internship offers are given to students in start of 3rd Year and you have to do intern in Summer Break of 3rd Year. As told by my seniors, the internship is also quite with highest stipend of 2 lakh per month and average 50K per Month.

There are various technical and cultural events organised in our College. The main are EFFERVESCENCE, APAROKSHA, ASMITHA. EFFERVESCENCE, the annual cultural fest of IIITA ,is one of the largest cultural fest in north India. The avg. Footfall per year is 20K people. The fest is for around 4 days. APAROKSHA, the annual technical fest of IIITA, is also large event. There are various technical events like coding competition, robowar, etx and some mix of cultural as well like humour night. ASMITHA, the annual sports meet of IIITA, had many different sports activities like Badminton, cricket, football, etc. It receives participation from nearly all the IIITs and some IITs as well.

The fee structure of the college os quite feasible. The annual fees of the college is 1.73 lakh rupees which is quite low as compared to other colleges fees. There is various scholarships also available like national scholarship, state scholarship and merit scholarship.

Merit scholarship are given to those whose income is less than 6 lakh and GPA greater than 8 after 1st year. The government schemes is normally applicable to our College also.

Lab facilities are quite good. All labs are well equipped with latest processor. There also central cloud computing also available for high tasks which can be availed by any student. Sports facilities is nice. There is football ground and cricket pitch but both are in same ground. There is also volleyball, basketball, tennis court. Indoor games facilities like pool, squash is also available.

IIITA is fully residential college. There are five boys Hostel (Bh-1 , Bh-2, Bh-3, Bh-4,Bh-5) and there Girls Hostel( Gh-1, Gh-2, Gh-3). Boys and girls hostel are seperated and no boys can go to girls hostel and no girl can enter boys hostel. The mess quality is quite poor and the infrastructure is good only for Bh-5(New hostel for 1st years) and rest need maintanence.

There is no Alumni meet in our College so, we didn't get a chance to meet our Allumni. Some Allumni visit during fest and some other events but there is very less chance of interaction. Although seniors are very interactive and helpful. They even help in building our projects and teaching extra stuffs like development etc. There is program available for 1st year of competitive Coding provided by 2nd and 3rd year students.

There is basic examination for all IITs/IIITs in India named JEE. I got a significantly good rank in JEE Main Exam. After clearing JEE Main, you have to give JEE Advanced Exam for admission in IITs. I got significantly good score and n JEE Main and a poor performance in JEE Advanced. I have only chance of getting branch like Chemical, Metallurgy etc in IITs. So, I considered taking IIITA where i got IT branch. There is online CSAB counseling in which you have to fill choices. I got what i want IIITA.

The faculty of IIITA are all P.H.D.s which is quite rare in India.Most of the faculty are quite experienced in the college. There are four departments which are Management, ECE, Applied Science and IT. There are few faculty like Dr. PK Sharma who don't know how to teach, they just give assignment and take weekly test. This is major problem especially in Applied Science Department. The IT faculty as per my knowledge are good enough. Like, Dr. Rahul Kala who teaches very well and give assignment which enhances your learning. I don't have any idea of ECE department and Management department since this subjects aren't taught too us.
