Remarks
You can feel a vibe of politics in a govt college. Though you won't find any ragging cases but there is internal politics in some departments(only) which ultimately misleads the college environment and slow development of college prevails.
Course Curriculum Overview
This college is almost autonomous. So the course curriculum is structured by the college. 5 main subjects plus 1 extra skill development subject for each semester.Total 8 semesters and 4 year course. Each semester is of 5-6 months and at the end exams are conducted. The exams for odd semester are conducted in December and even semester in June. The exam fee for each semester is Rs.1300 and and yearly portal charge fee of Rs. 110.
Placement Experience
Most of the companies are IT which is a disadvantage for students of non IT background. The college does not call companies for placement except few(1-2). The TPO cell is not systematic. The students have to think about their placement by self and online exams.Though the college sends some info through mails, but that is not only what's expected from a govt college. Placements definitely need to improve.
College Events
The college conducts cultural fests like Aayam and 2-3 technical fests but not regularly. The college does not care much about a student's college life.Funds for fests are not given on time and regularly.If given, the fests are not conducted on a proper and large scale. Conclusive to be, the fests are not at all interesting.
Fee Structure And Facilities
I don't think the college of Ujjain is expensive at all.The fee is very less- Rs. 24000 per year plus additional Rs.1300 for each semester exam which you need to pay before exams only. So its a feasible college. Infact the city of ujjain is feasible.If you are a student, your monthly expenses wont exceed Rs.7000 including food ,rent, transportation
Fees and Financial Aid
Our college fee for one year is around Rs.24000.The students of Sc ,st and obc are provided full fee scholarship. Moreover the sc st students recieve more amount than college fee to help them financially. Even if you don't receive scholarship, you can pay the fee in installment. That facility is available.The scholarship also include provision of stationery items like notebooks,files and pen to Sc St students.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities include sports like football, basketball, volleyball and cricket. We have college teams for each of them and we play Nodals and State tournaments. Labs are good in all departments, the devices and machines are sufficient for students to practice and gain knowledge about subject.The time table includes 2 days a week atleast for each lab so that everyone van have access to tools.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes they are helpful. Aleast I can tell about my department. I am a student of EC dept and we have a whats app group where the Alumini shares information about various companies and job openings which is very helpful to us. We are made aware about various job fields through it.
Admission
I got my admission in this college through JEE-MAINS exam in 2016. I cleared the exam and opted for councelling various engineering colleges of my state. You need to clear the cutoff for getting this college.It has 6 departments for B.E. course. Various quota are applicable in admission. girls have reserved seats.The students of obc sc and st have reservation.
Faculty
Faculties are top class and highly graded.The senior faculties are PHDs and M.techs from IITs and other prestigious institutions with a wide experience of teaching. Now even the Assistant Professors are Gate Ranked Mtechs from various IITs and NITs.They are posted here through TEQUIP program by Govt. No doubt about teaching staff. They are ready to help you when in need. A cooperative staff.
