Remarks

Medical education is difficult but the College has all the facilities available for it. Even though some teachers are not upto the mark most are into educating us and making medical education easy for us.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course is MBBS, which is quite difficult in itself. The course is same as everywhere in India. The exams are taken seriously and the main exams include Half yearly or 1st semester exam, Pre University exams and University exams. All these exams include separate practical exams. All the exam papers are decided by College teachers except University exams where it occurs at a different center and the question paper is made by the University, our College is affiliated to.

Placement Experience

3

As the job for doctors are plenty, you can get job after college easily. But admission in PG colleges are very few. Yes, the college provides internship, but no stipend is being paid. You can do your internship from outside as well after getting NOC(No objection certificate) which can be easily procured.

College Events

4

1. Annual days- Except for 1-2 years, it's always been celebrated. Earlier it used to be a week long, now its duration changed frequently. Various competitions take place in it, for example: Dance(group, solo, duet) Singing (group, solo, duet) Drama Street play Painting Poster making Cricket Football Volleyball Athletics Computer games Writing Poem recitation Shayari Antyakshari 2. Induction program for freshers, which is also celebrated in a different way each year, sometimes very exuberant and sometimes just a simple assembly. 3. Gandhi Jayanti 4. Independence day 5. Republic day- These events include appropriate nation related programmes including songs, plays, speeches. 6. Garba & College Fair - may or may not occur. 7. Janmashtami- Different batches compete for the prize, by breaking the pot of buttermilk. 8. Farewell & Freshers party which are done by students themselves outside College, may or may not happen. 9. Convocation for the graduating batch. 10. New year celebrations- DJ party 11. Ganesh Chaturthi, Durga Pooja celebrations by students themselves.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Expensive as is usually the case with medical education. But not when compared to other colleges, specially in other states. But again not affordable for all. It's usually around 9.30 lakhs for each year. Considering you have to pay it four times for four years, it comes down to 40 lakhs. And this excludes caution Money, money for practical files and other stuff. And forms for exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship is given by College in any form. But OBC, SC and ST students are paid for by the Madhya Pradesh government, and along with the fees they are also paid 50 thousand rupees for extra expenditure. Loan can be availed by different banks. Many of my friends did the same.

Campus Life

3.5

There are separate labs for every subject that requires it, as is compulsory by the MCI. They even take us there frequently, as and when needed. There is a huge auditorium, with green room. There is a computer lab in the library with good internet connection. Sports field is available for football and cricket. Basketball court is also there, and so is badminton court. Table tennis accessories are available at all hostels and College boys and girls common room. It also has locker facility. Physiology, Hematology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Histology, Forensic medicine, Pharmacology, Animal experiment, Preventive medicine labs and museums are present in College. There is also a dissection hall and store room in College.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel fees is around 1 lakh each year. The walls are seeping through the seasons. But the lights and space are plenty. Issues with electricity, tubelight or fans, plumber gets resolved easily in 1-3 days. Can't install AC in MBBS hostel. May take portable AC. Coolers have to be brought by students themselves. No gas stove, induction, washing machine is provided. A dhobi comes and you can give him your clothes. Attached bathroom is there. And a balcony is also present. It's a room for two people. Hostel has guard and students are not allowed to leave or enter after 10 pm. Electricity is not charged separately. Sweepers and cleaners are available, you don't have to clean yourself or pay them. Parking space for two wheelers and cars is available. A recreational room with TV, table tennis, gym equipments is also there.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students relationships depend on an individual level. People usually don't help their juniors just because they are juniors but when they become close due various other reason. But of course this is not mandatory and depends on the person and the batch you are taking into consideration. As the MBBS College started only in 2011 and the course is 5.5 long years, only 3 batches have yet passed out and it's not common to find your College seniors, batchmates or juniors when you go out to work or study in PG, specially out of the state. So there is no strong network, when compared to old Colleges.

Admission

Earlier when there was no NEET UG, I appeared for MP Pre medical test and after clearing it and counselling I was taken into college. I had to pay the fees along with caution Money and money for extra stuff. Then after verifying all documents, I was taken into College.

Faculty

2

The faculty numbers and education is decided by Medical Council of India. Most of the teachers are able and interested, also some are disinterested and/or incapable of teaching. It depends on teacher and department. It's definitely different from school teaching where not the teacher but students have to worry about the course completion and exam. Attendance is not such a big issue as in othe colleges.

First of all the college faculty and management is very good they teach us each and every topic very easily in a understandable way. Their is also hospital postings to see real life patients and their problems. Their is such good way it is managed that I didn't feel any improvement yet. The exams are held accordingly to the given time table by university and exams are mix of easy, hard and brain storming questions.

Ive always wanted to be a doctor as my uncle is a doctor and ive lived with him for half of my life. Mbbs and especially internship here prepares a medical student for any challanges that he/she might face while being posted in his bond or in PG. Ive already mentioned about the frequency of examinations. As for area of improvements, they should also incorporate rural visits and train us for real life
