Just need to focus on the specific domain and need to revisit the syllabus to make it more appropriate for students in today's scenario. Focus more on extra curriculum activities. Faculty-Student ratio needs to be increased
Entrance Preview
Entrance exam conducted by Uttar Pradesh Technical University, UPTU, secured good rank, wanted to go ahead with Civil Engineering (for UG) and then Environment but since UG was available in Environment, I picked Environmental Engineering. There were some good colleges in list but the course seems good with HCST so I picked this college
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum at initial stage was not that good, but with feedback from students, college made good amount of changes so as to make the course happening. Faculty at my time was mostly fresh or had less than 5 yrs exp (40% of faculty). Now with good demand, some good faculties are being called for visiting classes
Internships Opportunities
Internship I had with a PSU through own references, college did not help much.
Placement Experience
No good companies have been called, only few Management and few subject specific visited campus for Environment. Something is changing nowadays, hope scenario will be good in future for my Juniors
College Events
Gyan Jyoti is an annual fest and being celebrated on large scale. Prominent faces used to visit college. Likewise we used to have inter-college cricket annually with visit of prominent cricketers.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, some loans/ scholarships were available for lower caste people. For general class, only girls were given preferences
Campus Life
Good gender ratio, diverse environment with people from around the country, extra curriculum was also good and well maintained. Focus on sports and competitions like speech, debate was above average.
