Remarks
So I got decent marks in 12th and thus was able to get into the Government category where I pay very fewer fees for my graduation and that is the biggest advantage which I feel is about my college. The infrastructure is not that great. The faculty is okayish. But the placements are good. The machines in the lab are not working most of the time. Sports activities are not encouraged in my college but on the other hand, a lot of cultural activities and fests are going on throughout the year. So overall it is not that bad college.
Course Curriculum Overview
So I'm pursuing my engineering and according to me, the course sucks. I hate the curriculum. The focus is only on theory. The engineering colleges are not at all focusing on practical knowledge. Exams structure is somewhat like this- we have two mid-semester exams and one end semester exam every sem.
Placement Experience
Placements in my college are pretty good. There are a lot of companies visiting our campus every year for placements. No, college doesn't provide internships. The students have to find on their own. It is compulsory for every student to have done an internship of at least 6 weeks. The stipend is not given usually. It sometimes gets hard for some students to find an internship.
College Events
There are a lot of fests, talks, and events organized in our college throughout the year. Our biggest fest is the UDAN. There are a lot of cultural activities going on in the college and they are fun. We also have a technical fest called GENESIS. There are also a lot of workshops organized for the students which help students to get technical knowledge.
Fee Structure And Facilities
My college has 2 categories of students. First is the government-aided (GIA students) whose fees are around 6500 per annum. The other is the Self Finance students whose fees are 1,50,000 per annum. The category is decided on the basis of merit.
Fees and Financial Aid
There are a lot of scholarships which our college offers to the GIA students. One of them is the MYSY scholarship where if the income of the family is less than 6 lacs per annum then the government pays your hostel fees till you graduate. Another one is what the college provides, which is, if you get a 10CGPA in a particular semester then you won't have to pay the fees for that semester.
Campus Life
There are a lot of cultural activities going on in the college throughout the year like music and dance competition, street plays. We have a drama club that performs and competes with other colleges in various competitions. Lab facilities are quite good. We have a lab for almost every subject but most of the time the machines are not working. College doesn't support sports activities as much as it does cultural activities.
Alumni/Alumna
Our alumni network is quite good. There is a get-together every year hosted by the college where all the ex-students come and give talks and have lunch. The bond with senior students is pretty good. None of the seniors bully the juniors.
Admission
We had to give an entrance exam which is the GUJCET and based on the marks you get in 12th and GUJCET a merit list was made. I'm not sure if the 12th marks are counted now. There is also an NRI quota available to get admission to my college.
Faculty
The faculty of my college is not that great. Some of the professors are really really knowledgeable and helpful. But the problem is that they are only a few. The rest of the faculty is not that knowledgeable. Their teaching is not so great and not all teachers teach in English.
