My college review

This college is good if the students intention is to get a placement soon after graduation as there are a lot of companies which include reputed ones which recruit huge amount of students. The college is also into Christian missionary, so each day of the college starts with a assembly which has Christian teachings, for some it may be positive as for me, but there may be students for other religions also, if they are not comfortable with this. I would not recommend th em to join this college.

It is a deemed University. Course curriculum is based on the decisions of the COE(Controller of Examinations) department in the college. This college has their own course curriculum. The COE department decides the structure of the courses and the examinations and also whether any changes is to be made in it.The Exam Structure is also decided and prepared by the COE department in the college, and the evaluation of the examinations in done in the college itself.

Yes, the placement opportunities in the college is huge. A lot of companies have their placement drive in our college. Some companies provide internship, whereas other companies provide internship-to-job opportunities, with really good stipend.Our college provides internship in the campus for those who are good in networking, databases etc. in the computer technology centre(CTC), I am not sure about their stipend. Also each department have their specialised labs for certification etc. For eg: IBM, Novell, cisco in computer science department, Keltron in electrical and electronics department etc.

Christmas Megaplay- which happens every year, it is a play which involves a lot of expense on the costumes etc, and the preparations for it happens one or one and a half month in advance.Mindkradt(College event), was the best during my initial college years, afterwards the management have set some strict rules and regulations, they would not allow to play any non gospelic songs during the event as it is a Christian based college.

Expensive, compared to other normal colleges in India. As it is a self financing college, and a deemed university, they are not affiliated to any other university or anything. But I think they are feasable compared to other self financing college, not all but some maybe.

They provide scholarship if a student's familys annual income is less than 2 lakhs per annum and also the student score above 90% marks and attendance in the college. They provide really good scholarship for them. Not for any other category.

The college conducts evangelin memorial tournament every year in the month of September. The sports events include shotput, football, athletics, hockey, basketball, cricket and badminton.The college football team was really strong during our time.

There is an online portal where all the alumni of the college get in touch. They are helpful as an alumnus posts job vacancies in their company for some specific role, which are helpful for other alumni.

Entrance Exam. Based on the entrance rank, they will call you.The higher your rank, the higher the chances of getting your preferred department.Not necessary to write entrance exam.If you tried for MBBS etc.and did not get admitted in any medical College or wanted engineering and did not get in any other reputed engineering college due to insufficient marks etc.This college can be your last option. You can go anytime before the academic years starts.If seats are vacant for eg: in mechanical engineering, they would give you admission in spot. Or if the seats are full in a department, they may suggest you some other departments. If you have no other option, go for it.

Faculties used to teach really well during our time. Heard most of them have left to some other colleges. I am unaware of the present faculties in the college. Would be better to get opinion from a current student, as I am an alumnus
