The college management is poor with the entire responsibility of study, exrta-curricular and campus jobs resting on the shoulders of students.

HP-CMAT now renamed as HPU-MAT. There is an objective exam for english, reasoning, DI and BE. Shortlisted candidates are invited for GD and PI. Combined score of academic qualifications, written test and GD and PI is used for final shortlisting.

Course Curriculum is identical to what most b-schools have. The faculty is a mix of good and bad. If the student is willing to put in extra effort, one can gain knowledge from the good faculty, but it is totally dependent on the initiatives of the student.

Yes, internship with a few Government organisations as well as private companies is provided like SJVNL, HPFC, HPPCL and many others. Stipend is subjective to the policy of the company and varies from nil to 10K per month.

Campus placements are minimal due to very few companies visiting the campus. Organising job fair etc by student effort sometimes brings more opportunities. Average package offered is 3 - 5 Lacs per annum.

As a state level University, there are a huge number of festivals and events organised annually. HPUBS organises its own management fest wherein colleges from himachal participate. There are other smaller events like sports competition, debates etc. between the senior and junior batches.

Being a government college, the fee structure is inexpensive for the general students ranging from Rs. 5000 to 10000 for the entire MBA. For the management quota students, the fee ranges from 2-3 Lacs. The hostel facilities are average. The rooms are big and clean with minimal water and electricity issues. The food in the mess is average but the local vendors serve good food at minimal prices.

The gender ratio is good with the best students from Himachal opting for an MBA from HPUBS. There is an industrial tour organised for the second semester students for about 15 -20 days, wherein they visit various companies across India and learn about the functioning of the corporate sector.

The alumni network is big, but has not been tapped into much. Only 1 alumni meet has been organised in the last 5 years. The alumni are helpful if are reached out to.
