A good college, all things considered

There are some cons as in every college like there are some restrictions on going out of the hostel late at night, also the college is far from the city but there are bus services 4-5 times in a day.

The course curriculum is pretty good, the courses (in my opinion) are very important, although some of them were not needed as like in most colleges, all the branches have common courses in first year. The exam structure consists of two quizzes, one mid-sem and one end-sem exam, the weightage of each exam is decided by the faculty in charge and lab exams (where applicable)

The placements have been steadily increasing through every year since the start of this college, this year (2019—20) the highest package being 1.7 million and the second highest 1.5 million, and the last semester is yet to come.

There are three main inter-college fests, which are : Tarang (cultural fest), Abhikaplan (technical fest), Gusto (Sports fest), these events are sometimes changed like last year there was a techno-design fest instead of a technical fest. Also there are several intra college events such as Enthuse (sports), and fiesta-da-literati (literary fest)

The fee structure is reasonable enough for most lower to upper middle class families, around 75k for each semester, which might change in the future, besides there are various scholarships for the needy such as the MCM (Merit cum means) which grants scholarship to economically challenged students if they maintain a CPI of over 7.

The college offers MCM (Merit cum means) scholarship for students who maintain a CPI of more than 7 and have an income less than 2 lakhs per annum. It is awarded only when proper proof of income is submitted.

Extracurricular activities, sports are maintained by clubs, there are various sports and cultural clubs which include cricket, football, volleyball, basketball, dance, literary, music, dramatics, etc. For these clubs, there is a cricket ground, football ground, volleyball court, basketball court, tennis and badminton court, TT room, chess and carrom. There are two computer labs which are open 24*7.

The hostel infrastructure is nothing to write home about, but it is good enough. There are 3 hostels for 1st, 2nd, 3rd year students, one for phd students and 1 for final year students. Hostels are divided into blocks of 4 or 6 rooms, each room housing 3 or 2 students. Desks, chairs, fans, cupboards, beds are equipped for each student.

Alumnis visit once in a while or communicate to us through other ways and help us in understanding how to succeed after graduation and also what to do until then. Seniors are also helpful and informative.

I got around 15k rank in jee main, and opted for JOSAA counselling which gave me this college ultimately. Admission was done by first reporting at the nearest NIT (Patna in my case) and submitting various documents along with seat registration fee (35k), then reporting at the instutute before the given last date of reporting.

Most of the faculty are good professors and have an innate ability to teach the subjects well enough that you're able to understand the concepts, they're helpful and are willing to solve your doubts anytime, students can go to their cabins to ask their doubts.
