Remarks
The most major disadvantage of this college is not having enough hostel facility for the students. Hostels are alloted to the students based on Jee ranks in first year and based on pointer in the following year's.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is very good and it will be revised regularly to meet the latest needs based on the reviews of previous year students. During my academic period i would have eight semesters and a semester paper is for 120 marks, which is divided into 4 categories 1.Class Test - 1(ct-1)----15 Marks 2.Class Test - 2 (ct-2)----15 Marks 3.Teacher assessment (TA)-----20Marks 4.End Semester Exam (ESE)------70 Marks We have CGPA system
Placement Experience
Placement policy is 'One Person One Job'. If more than required percentage is placed then dream slot opens. Doing internship while in 3rd year is a compulsory. Only average number of companies visit for internships but the stipend is a fair amount
College Events
The college has 3 major annual fests. 1. Tech fest----Aavartan 2. Sports fest - - - Sammar 3. Cult fest - - - - Eclectika Each fest lasts for 3 days and contains various events during these fests. Other than these there are many other small fests( conducted by dramatics club ) and events.
Fee Structure And Facilities
While i am studying my academic fee is around 75k and hostel and mess costs around 30k. I personally feel it is feasible amount but for our junior's due to change in MHRD rules like all NITs our NIT fees also increased.
Fees and Financial Aid
To my knowledge college won't provide any scholarships but students get various state and centrally funded scholarships. Students can get educational loan from SBI bank and provide the DD given by the bank at the time of semester fee payment.
Campus Life
Coming to extracurricular activities every year our college students actively participate in inter nit competition and come out with flying colors. Rather than this we do have branch wise sports every year. Lab facilities are also good.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel seats are not given to all, on the basis of merit list students get hostel seat. If you got a seat you have to pay around 30k as hostel fee. Food is not so tasty but hostel rooms are so spacious, enough for 4 students to live but only 3 students are allocated for room. During summer we faced water problem also.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a good alumni connection. All of us are connected through whatsapp groups and regular alumni meets occurs. There are incidents where our alumni helped friends in need by doing financial help.
Admission
NIT RAIPUR is a centrally funded institute. Like any other NIT to get an admission, one has to clear JEE MAINS. The merit list is declared based on the percentile system. There is a reservation system in the admission process(caste and home state reservation.)
Faculty
Well educated faculty with least degree as phd. from a reputed college. Faculty teaches very well with some lab exercises. Interactive sessions to clarify doubts may not occur regularly but if occurred it will be efficient. Encourages students to take part in national level competitions and talent exams.
