Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite vast and the students are constantly evaluated on several cafeterias. There is 50% weightage for internals (sessionals, quizzes, assignment and attendance). The rest 50% is via external. Lab evaluations are done on a daily basis
Placement Experience
The curriculum is designed in such a way that students spend quality time in the industry. The UG students spend 4 – 6 months in their final semester while the PG students spend 10 – 12 months in their second year with the industry.
College Events
KAALRAV is the biggest fest of our college. It is a 3 days event that occurs once every year and mostly during February or March. There are many technical events(Tech adrishta) and departmental fests that also take place. then there is Athlema, the sports fest that also occurs once every year, mostly November.
Fee Structure And Facilities
B Tech(CSE/CE/EE/ECE/IT/ME): 4 years the yearly course fee is 7000. The first installment is 3500 and the second installment is also 3500. In addition, Caution Deposit of Rs. 5000/- is required to be deposited at the time of admission. Annual hostel mess and utility fee is 1,17,000
Fees and Financial Aid
I got a scholarship based on my 12th boards resulted. Around 10% was deducted from my total fees. The money was refunded.
Campus Life
The campus has first-rate facilities like laboratories, workshops and practice schools for hands-on learning. There are also cafeterias and transport facilities for students' ease.The campus is home to over 3200 students, 220 members of faculty and a large and efficient team of support staff
Alumni/Alumna
SMIT has an Alumni Engagement Cell(AEC) started recently. It stays is touch with the alumni, invites the for various talks and organizes Global Alumni Meet(GAM) every year.
Admission
I got admission through SMIT offline test. The students can take admission through JEE, SMIT offline test and the online test. Based on the number of students and the marks, the students are allocated respected departments, mostly the ones they prefer.
Faculty
The faculty of the college are mostly very helpful and supportive. They guide the students quite well. Perhaps a bit strict in terms of rules and discipline. They are quite knowledgeable and learned. They do not miss classes, everything happens as scheduled.
