Remarks

SMIT is a great college with a peaceful environment. Its fees are feasible and your time in it would be worth it according to my own experience of 1 year. Great learning opportunities and diverse interactions.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

Exam structures are good but sometimes gets a bit hectic when you get involved in some extracurricular activities. But the pattern is really helpful for the final semester exam as it reduces a massive pressure of completing bulk syllabus by breaking it into 2 pieces.

Placement Experience

5

As per the records, it is really good. Last year placements were very promising and with such academic acceleration in SMIT I am sure the stats will reach much greater heights.

College Events

5

Biggest college fest of northeast Kaalrav is just knocking the doors of my institution. Well everyone knows of Kaalrav. Other fests are also there held by every department of the college. There are clubs for all activities be it for dance, music, hip-hop, sports etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is feasible as compared to many other institutes plus you will be in a safe and peaceful place far away from city life. Scholarships provided by the institution are really fair enough and makes it more comfortable. Plus Manipal entrance too gives an extra edge.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm already studying under a scholarship from the Sikkim government through state quota. No two scholarship is given otherwise I would be getting a lot.

Campus Life

5

College is great fun in terms of events, meets and workshops. Gender ratios for my class would be around 1:7 for girls and boys. Sports are encouraged and tournaments are held timely. People from different places of the country study under the same room.

Alumni/Alumna

SMIT has great and enthusiastic alumni. Regular alumni meet are held to encourage juniors and sharing experiences.

Admission

I was in the merit list of students getting admission from Sikkim state quota. I choose Computer science engineering because of its practicality and need in the state like Sikkim. Interest in software, cybersecurity, web designing etc guided me to choose this course.

Faculty

4

Faculty here is diverse. They are helpful in all manner possible. They are all qualified in their fields and easily accessible but For the first year, some faculty here lack the approach of practicality and fails to create an interesting environment for learning.

Placement Experience:

Placement is overall good here. Students from ece/eee are better placed than cse here. Here, companies like nvedia, apple has given the highest package. Previous year highest package is 55 lakh ,which had given to two students from eee branch. This year highest package is 35 lakh . Which is offered by two students. Now ,I am concluding all branch avg and placement percentage - Civil -70%placed Mechanical- 100% placed Eee-92% Ece-90% Cse/ai- 80% Overall -86% Average - 8.85 lpa Median-7.5 lpa Highest -35 lpa

I do not have much idea about this field. If I'm not wrong internships begin from 2nd to 3rd year itself, and placements from 4th year. The avergae package here is around 6 LPA, and the highest package offered is 56 LPA. That'll be all from side.
