The college is average

The college is good. Although the teaching is good but the syllabus structure needs a little change. And also the exam system also needs some change. For me I think the number of internal exams should be reduced. Other than that everything is ok.

The course is not bad. Although some improvements are required. About exam structure: The college conducts 3 internal exams including practicals and one semester exam including semester practicals. In the first internal theory is conducted for 50 marks and whose weightage is 5 and the weightage of theory is also 5. So total weightage of first internal is 10. Similarly the weightage of second internal is 15 equally divided among theory and practical. The theory is conducted for 75 marks for second internal. The third internal also has a weightage of 15 equally divided by theory and practical but the third internal theory exam is conducted for 100 marks. Another 10 marks is given on the basis of assignments and attendance. 75% attendance is compulsary for all the subjects. So total internal weightage is 50 marks. The semester final theory exam is conducted for 100 marks. The final exam has weightage of 50 marks equally divided among practical and theory. So overall the CGPA is calculated from 100 marks for each subject.

The job opputunities and placements are quite good in the college. The CSE department has a record of 100% placement. My department has a record of 96% placement. This year in one month more than 6000 placements are done from our college. All the three campuses namely KTR campus, Ramapuram campus and Vadapalani campus sits in placement at the same time. The highest package was 49 lpa which happened last year from Ramapuram campus in CSE department.

In main campus that is KTR campus two national level fests occurs namely Aarush and Milan. In Ramapuram campus one national level fest occurs namely Stringz. Other than these fests technical and non technical workshops along with departmental symposiums occurs in all campuses.

The fees is feasible for a Private engineering college. For ECE department it is 2 lakhs per annum that is 8 lakhs for 4 years. Same for CSE department. EEE department costs 1.5 lakh per annum. The hostel and food fees are not included here. This is only tution fees.

The college gives scholarships on the basis of rank in its entrance exam SRMJEE. Moreover there are some concessions in tution fees if you perform well in some particular year. There is also loan facility in the college.

The sports is not so much encouraged but there are teams of the college in sports like cricket, football, basketball etc. The college offers very good and well equipped labs for all departments. There are scope for many other extracurricular activities.

The seniors are very good and helpful. The alumni is too good. They provide many useful information to build up the career and excell in the college. They don't indulge in any sort of ragging as it is completely prohibited in both campus and hostel. The seniors are very good.

I appeared for the entrance exam of my college. The name of the entrance exam is SRMJEE after the declaration of results I was called for counselling and got admitted in ECE branch according to my SRMJEE rank.

The faculties are average. Neither too good nor bad. Most of the faculties are local or from Andhra Pradesh. So it is bit difficult for communication with north indian students but that does not effect in education. All the teaching stuff is done in english. Tge problem is the north Indians don't understand the jokes cracked by the faculties sometimes in the class that is why sometimes the North Indians find the class boring. But the faculties are always ready to help. You just have to approach them.
