Isabella Thoburn College

The college is in itself a remarkable institution for the city. It is highly prestigious and historic college that has great names as their alumni.Its an honour to students to be a part of it.Girl students from Lucknow and nearby towns has this college as their dream institution for their graduation and post graduation.

Course is approved by the UGC guidelines and in accordance with Lucknow University.Exams were yearly based in my time in undergraduate program,which is now semester based.Post graduation had semester system.

College does not provide such facility.However there is committee that provides guidance to the students regarding employment and internships.The college prepares the students well to seek good placements.

Many cultural programs are celebrated throughout the year.Not only cultural but seminars, discussions and debates of various departments are conducted throughout.Not only academic but social programs, environmental programs,awareness programs also take place.

Fee structure is feasible for students belonging to every section of society.Scholarship scheme is also provided in the college.Fees is totally as per the prescribed norms of Lucknow University.No other hidden charges are taken.

Many scholarships are provided by the college from their side.Along with this all the scholarships granted by the government are also open for students.College has a branch of UCO bank inside the premises which also provides student loans for students in need.

Extracurricular activities at academic level and cultural level are great.Some or the other event is always taking place throughout the year.However activities under sports do not happen that frequently.

I had not opted for hostel so can't say about it.Had a few friends who took the hostel facility and they were always all praises for it.The hostel vibe is homely and highly secure for girls.The needs of the students are taken care of with utmost responsibility.

There is a strong alumni network in the college.All the passing out students are made to fill up the alumni form so that they can be contacted for meet ups etc.Senior students have a helping nature towards their juniors.

For undergraduate program admissions are taken on the basis of merit list prepared after an entrance test.For the postgraduate program admission was taken through merit list based on graduation marks followed by an interview.

Faculty of the college is well educated,hard working and fully dedicated to their job.They are really helpful and friendly towards the students.They are always ready to help the students with their doubts and queries.
