Remarks
Positive: One of the oldest govt. Engineering colleges in the country with great alumnus base as well as the return on investment is appreciable. Negative: Located in the remote area of dhanbad district, nearest city is 22 kms away. But one can get all his daily need items nearby college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is well designed to make a student theoretically and practically ready for industrial application and solve tough engineering challenges throughout his/her job life. Labs are equipped with modern apparatus and machines. The professors are helpful as well.
Placement Experience
As the it is the only govt college in the state, the placement is kept up to the mark. Many companies like TATA Steel, Vedanta, Jindal steels, TCS, Wipro etc visit college for placement of students from final year. Tata steel also provide internship to students of pre-final year with a stipend of 10k per month.
College Events
Bitaansh: Annual cultural fest of the college which include freshers cum farewell. In this segment, fresher of the year is selected through rigourous rounds. To draw curtains to the 3- day event, celebrity performance is kept on the last day. Technical fest: It comprises of technical paper presentation, bot fight and many technical based segments.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee Structure is the most attractive part of the college. Like in every engineering college one might spend 1.5 lacs per year but here the annual fees is just 20k including, hostel fees and semester fee. So , it's quite nominal.
Fees and Financial Aid
Alumni scholarship is provided to meritous students by the USA based alumnis of BIT Sindri. This takes place every year. Also students from rural background are given per year scholarship of 22k to support them with educational expenses.
Campus Life
Cultural fest are held every year in the month of November where students showcase their talent on stages. Along with a celebrity performance to close the curtains to the 3 day cultural fest. Technical fest is also held in the month of February. With different segments providing right exposure to students. Sports event is help in every year March. Hostel Facilities
Hostel is good these days. They have been renovated. Every floor washroom is provided. Rooms are big and spacious. And it stays cooler in summers. Messing facilities are provided in each hostel. At evening stalls are also opened for students to have snacks.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumnis are ever helpful. Every year college celebrates alumni meet where alumnis from pan India and across the globe meets the current students share their life experience with students. They help college with placements and also provide monetary help to students who struggle financially.
Admission
Appeared state level engineering entrance held by JCECE, followed by counselling process and then admission process in the college. One has to get rank below 800 to get admission in the college and the admission is totally based on merit in the exam
Faculty
Faculties are well trained and have the knowledge about the curriculum they are teaching. They provide great in-depth analysis of each topic they are teaching. Most of them are passouts from NIT or IIT. They also support student in fests.
