Remarks
Need to upgrade the study material as per the industrial demands and focus less on just getting marks and stuff and help students more in exploring. Lots and lots of positives to take as I've mentioned in many of my answers above
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum could've been better because it makes no sense to stil read things are outdated in the industry now. Students are completely on their own to explore other stuff to get good jobs and improve their knowledge and keep the motivation high. The exams could also be conducted in a way that tests the understanding of the student and not just scribble down exactly what the prof taught you.
Placement Experience
All the top NITs and IITs are great in terms of placements and MNNIT Allahabad is no different. If you have that quality that makes you a touch different from the crowd, then more often than not you're going to get a job in some of the top companies in the country. Yes, the college provides internships and the stipend depends on the kind of company you work for, usually between 10k-35k
College Events
There are a number of events celebrated in our college. First is Avishkar which is one of my personal favorites as it gives the students an opportunity to come up with projects that are mind-boggling. Then there's Renaissance which gives aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to put forward their ideas for start-ups and if they win, they night get investors theb and there to pursue their dream. Coming to cultural events, there's Culrav where we have all kinds of genres you could be a part of(cultural fest)
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a top government college, the fee structure is quite feasible and there's also opportuntiy for students to get full scholarship if they want to from the state government. It has seen a rise in the recent years but for me it still remains feasible
Fees and Financial Aid
I had friends who availed full scholarship for the college fee. Only one thing was disappointing to see that the amount of money differs according to the very old caste system of our country where General category students receive the very least of what's possible
Campus Life
In terms of labs, the infra was nice but the equipments need to be replaced as most of them are non-functional and very old to start with. When it comes to Sports there were only a few that were actually properly monitored and funded with Volleyball, badminton and soemtimes Cricket to name a few. Other sports were a little less loved
Hostel Facilities
The hostel for the first year students is absolutely great with big rooms, wardrobes inside and a study incorporated at the back, there's elevator facility, the washrooms are clean and the students are treated fairly well. The food could a touch better but still good enough. The other hostels are for the 2nd to final year students and they need improvement, I'd be honest and say that in our final year we did see some renovation work going on.
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni is one of the best in the country as you can always rely on them to help you if you run into them anywhere. They always make you feel like you're still part of the family that strings us all together
Admission
As we all know that every year lakhs of students appear in the JEE Mains and JEE Advanced entrance exams to get into the best engineering colleges across India. I appeared for the same in the year 2014 and got selected for being among the top candidates, after that you need to select colleges and the streams on the portal and according to your rank you get the seat
Faculty
My opinion on the faculty is varied which I think wouks be the case in most colleges across the country. Some of the faculty members are just the best you could wish for and will help you in every way possible whether it's projects not related to the curriculum or anything else that you're willing to explore, and some are just those stubborn people for whom everything needs to be played by the book.
