IBS Pune review

Overall to sum this review up, IBS Pune has it's own pros and cons. The teaching, placement and Internship processes are great. The downsides are- no hostel facilities and hectic teaching schedule. Faculties prioritize important aspects related to having a better career. They not only teach us how to get into good companies. They also guide us on how to thrive in the corporate world.

The course curriculum is pretty intense. The exam structure is based on regular assessment. The marking is distributed into marks obtained in 5 sub exams and then the aggregate is calculated. Due to regular assessments, students have to study regularly in order to perform well. The only negative in the teaching system is the uncertainty of classes. Extra classes are conducted in the weekends and sometimes it can be too hectic for the students to attend these classes. Apart from regular classes, classes for personality development and Excel classes are also being provided to students.

The placements are very good. Nearly all of the students get placed. Established companies come to the college to recruit students. The college also provides internship to the students. It is a mandatory process and the college makes sure every student gets to train under a certain company. The college faculties prioritize these elements the most. International companies also come to the college to recruit students. The placement and Internship processes are very well organized.

Zeal is celebrated annually. It is an event showcasing various events including management games and cultural events. The event is held over for 2 days and students from other colleges also participate in some of these events. Apart from Zeal, various events like IBS mela and sporting events are held throughout the year. Students get to win prizes in various events that are conducted throughout the year.

The fees for 2 years of PGPM course in IBS Pune is roughly around 8 lakhs. It is on the expensive side considering it doesnt have accomodation/ hostel facilities. But overall the placements and the efforts put forward by the faculties make it worthwhile.

There are few scholarships available but many students arent much aware about them. Maybe in the 2nd year we will be detailed about them. So I dont have much knowledge about those terms. But these are minor scholarships so students dont show much interest in them.

IBS conducts a lot of extracurricular events, ranging from sports to different managerial events and conventions scheduled by the college. Sporting events such as football, basketball, cricket and volleyball are conducted throughout the year.

There arent any hostel facilities available in the college. The students have to find their own accomodation. This can be considered a big negative against the college. Taking all this into account, there isnt any fuss for accomodation as PGs and apartments nearby provide accomodation to the students at an affordable rate.

The seniors are very cooperative and helpful. They guide us through our first days in the college. They also help provide us information about Summer Internships and placement processes. They also guide us through the different regulations placed by the college.

I applied to IBS through my NMAT score. I had scored 160 in NMAT entrance exams. Then IBS conducted GD and PI rounds in their Hyderabad campus. The results were announced within a month or so and I opted the Pune campus.

The faculties in the college are well informed about the subject matter. The quality of teaching is good. Students are encouraged to ask doubts to the teachers. The faculties are very strict about punctuality and discipline. There is no specific uniform for the college but students are strictly advised to wear formals. The faculties are very cooperative in clarifying any doubts. The college also mails 'faculty feedback forms' to the students. This is for the directors of the college to assess the faculty performance. Overall the structure of the teaching process is very well defined. The syllabus is fixed and the faculty members are cooperative.
