Remarks
This totally boils down to one's personal views. The college has some very stringent rules which definitely are negative. On the positive side, I'd like to put that the infrastructure and how they maintain the surroundings and how they feel that they have a cultural/moral responsibility on the well being of the local communities present near the university grounds.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is well structured but I feel it to be a little outdated and the fact that we do not learn much concepts in our first year, which I feel is something that should be changed. Exams are held semester wise, each end semester exam contributes to 50% of the weightage, the other 30% comes from two periodical tests and the rest 20% comes from tests, quizzes and tutorials kept throughout the semester.
Placement Experience
Placement opportunities are for my particular department is very good as the college does put in some effort to make us technically sound. As for internship, they encourage it if we are able to get some by our own, nothing is promised on this aspect.
College Events
There are quite a few number of events held it in our campus, but it is heavily concentrated by students from our sister campuses rather than other urban or semi-urban colleges. 'Anokha' is the biggest of em all, it is our student run national level technical festival.
Fee Structure And Facilities
A couple of members of my family have been previously enrolled in the same university. Back then it used to be easily feasible but they increase the tution fees annually for each new batch and some might find it to be very expensive these days.
Fees and Financial Aid
The university does offer scholarships and help students to procure student loans. The scholarships are mostly based on merit and a very few are based on what 'category' of people they are. For loan facilities, the university do have tie ups with a few vendors, but I do not have much knowledge about it.
Campus Life
There's ample resources for extracurricular activities, sports and labs. We have two well kept football grounds , tennis courts , am Olympic level swimming pool, basketball courts, places for people to practice dance or sing and/or practice yoga. Our labs are very well equipped too.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I have opted for the hostel facility. The rules are very strict here, but infrastructure wise it's quite good. Restrooms and common places are cleaned at least thrice every day. The food is an issue here as non vegetarian food is not allowed inside the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
I franky do not think if my university has a strong alumina or not, even if they have then it's safe to say that they are poorly maintained or totally not cared about. As for our seniors, it's a mixed bag, some are very caring and helpful and some just do not care less.
Admission
Wrote their entrance exam, which was pen and paper based. They released the list after a few weeks and based on my rank, I was called in for counseling. I was able to choose a stream of my own during counseling.
Faculty
Many of the faculties are well qualified. But there are some faculties whom you would want to aptly classify as sadists. A huge chunk of the faculties are people who have done their Master's and PHD in Amrita itself, I do not know if it's a good thing or not.
