Remarks

Overall i would say that the education system is solid. They have a good staff and infrastructure. They can improve by organizing workshops and bootcamps to teach student about the latest and dynamic technologies like react native and flutter.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Our college aims at providing the best of the courses. In case of CSE, although some subjects were a bit outdated, for example studies microprocessors and assembly language. I still believe that the focus was always in encouraging deep overall understanding of the subject. The exams were just like any normal university exams, we had 2 semester exams per year and 4 internal unit tests too.

Placement Experience

3.5

I was placed in Amazon in the beginning of my final years, so i am going to say very good. They usually bring in many different companies with varying roles and responsibilities. Students of all domain example, designers, front end developers, back end developers, web developer etc. The stipend and facilities were good, food coupons, cab facilities. I also got a full-time offer letter at the end of the internship period.

College Events

4

One of the most memorable moments were when we organised the annual fest at our college. It is now called continuum but was formally known as Eklavya. In this fest various events are organized and hosted for students irrespective of their branches and years. Some local festivals like Pongal and Saraswati Puja are also celebrated with joy and zest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for computer science is 90,000 per annum, but because of my 12th grades, it was reduced to 75,000 per annum, i would say that this was pretty feisable considering there are some really expensive colleges with education system not nearly as robust as Bharath university. Apart from annual fee, we also had to pay exam fee that seems to go up every semester, to what i think should not be increased.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have a google developers club established in our college and i was the head of core team. My roommate and senior was the lead, our college offers free education to anyone who does anything remarkable or shows extraordinary capabilities. Thus they forgo his tuition fees for the B.Tech.

Campus Life

4.5

We have a lot of extra curricular activities, but frankly i don't think our college pays much attention to things like dance, music, art or even sports. Though the teams are there, but i never hear when the recruitment is going on, when the team wins or looses etc. We also have a NCC, but i doubt that is any good either.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I never stayed in hostel but my friends did. Food was good, they made North Indian food for them. The breakfast was bananas, eggs, kheer etc. Also they serve evening snacks. However the overall infrastructure was average, i would rate it 3/5.

Alumni/Alumna

I have a few linked in contacts of my seniors, One of them is a guy who was hired as software developer as an intern but later converted to full time. He was too recruited by college placement cell. When i was selected, i would constantly seek his help regarding the further joining process and how to prepare myself for a career at amazon. I think most of them are really helpful. Although the only mode of communication in linked-in.

Admission

I heard about our college from one of my school seniors. He instructed me to apply for B.tech. In Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department. After a week the entrance exam was organized. Fortunately, my name was in the merit list and i got an invitation letter the next day, where I was called in to the admission office with my parents. The Exam officer conducted a brief interview regarding my Personality and interests. On the same day he collected my 12th mark sheet and Transfer certificate. He then gave me an admission sheet to fill up. And i paid the semester fee the next day through DD. I started attending the classes a few days after that.

Faculty

4.5

The facilities are really helpful. Even though i was new in Chennai, not familiar with the language, we didn't have any issues with the teaching. They also provided digital notes before the exam. Our HOD was my favorite faculty as he believed in learning from the experience and training, therefore easily granting me OD for my absence when i was doing an internship at a company.

Specific schedule is not followed in college regarding the academic and co curricular activities. Sudden decisions will be taken by the management which is a bit difficult for the students and faculty too. There were times where faculties are fed up of management rules and decisions.
