LNMIIT college review

The college life and ambiance is very good at LNMIIT. I have friends in many other private and government engineering colleges who tell me how bad the facilities in their college are, compared to those colleges LNMIIT is much better and worth the money they charge. The social life and extracurricular activities are fantastic.

The course curriculum is very good, we are taught everything that is necessary for a particular subject and the subjects are distributed perfectly across semesters. Each semester we have two exams plus some quizzes or projects depending on the subject.

The placement and job opportunities are very good. There are a lot of good companies that come on campus for CSE students and some also accept ECE students. Placements of mechanical are average. Majority of the students that sit for placements are placed and the average package is also quite high compared to other colleges.

There are three major fests that are celebrated, Vivacity - cultural fest, Desportivos - sports fest, and Plinth - technical fest. Other than that there are various other events that happen all throughout the year namely, the freshers night, fashion walks, dramas, debates, MUNsp etc.

The fee structure is not very expensive it is almost 1.7 lac per semester. It is higher compared to government colleges but is low compared to other private colleges of the same level. The major portion of the fee, almost 70 percent consist of the tuition fees and the other 30 percent is mess and hostel charges.

That college offers merit-based scholarship to students scoring greater than 9 CGPA and also to those score first years who score greater than a particular score. The college provides no loan facility that I know off.

There are almost 20 college clubs that operate all throughout the year that organize different events and learning opportunities for students. There are almost all sports available in the college including football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, tennis, squash, chess, table-tennis, etc. Sports arenas and courts are of average quality and every year budget is passed for sports inventories. There are labs for everything and equipments are top notch.

Hostel in our college is compulsory except for a few with good reason. The hostel infrastructure is very good. There are only one-seater and two-seater rooms, unlike other colleges where 6 people stay in one room. The hostel has all the basic needs including regular water, electricity, wifi, furniture, a central ducting system for summers. Each and every student is allowed a room and basic furniture(bed, mattress, table, chair, cupboard) every year.

The seniors are very helpful. The senior-junior interaction is very good and they help juniors settle in their new homes. There are a lot of alumni meets happening regularly and they guide us in every way possible.

I filled the application of LNMIIT in the first week of june which had a minimum cost of Rs1000 in which i filled my branch preferences. The college selected students based on the JEE Mains score of the individual. I had to submit a provisional fee of 25000 to take part in the counselling procedure. There were seperate rounds of this counselling procedure. After each round the college announced a cutoff marks list for each branch and the individual could see which branch they were alloted based on their score and preference. I was alloted CSE in the first round and was given 4 days to submit the remaining fee of the first semester to book my seat. I submitted the fee and booked a seat. Then there was a registration time of two days in the last week of july in which we had to report to the college and submit all of the documents including the marksheets, application form, medical report, anti ragging affidavit etc. After successful submission of the documents rooms were alloted and the whole process was then completed.

The faculty is very educated with top degrees and have a lot of knowledge of their respective subject but most of them are not able to convey that knowledge to the students because of their bad English speaking skills.
