he college management is average. Though there are some very honestand helpful people but some are rude and corrupt.The official processes are time consuming and often delayed which can cause a bit of inconvinience.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is according to the Calcutta University CBCS guidelines. The average course time for undergrad courses is 3years. There are six semesters. The curriculum is well planned with industry-specific knowledge. The students are taken on industrial visits and at the end of the third year, you need to submit a research paper that trains the students on research related works and is of much help to the students who would like to pursue research work in future.
Placement Experience
They have an active placement cell. Camping is arranged for the 3rd year students and all assistance regarding placement is provided by the placement cell. They have links with many multinational companies and reputed companies who visit the college during the placement sessions and recruit a large number of the student as program-trainees, business analysts and various other job roles.
College Events
The college has a cultural society named Udaan. They organize college fests along with the students union. The student union also organizes various Walk-for-cause and various cultural weeks. There is a college dance group, drama group, art society who participate in various inter-college fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is very very feasible. The college gets UGC Grants from the State. The fee-breakup is very much transparent and shows on the fee book. The students who need financial help can apply for scholarships and various State government schemes through the principal.The college staff are very helpful in obtaining grants and scholarships and you can even get your education absolutely free of cause.

No. I didn't opt for any scholarship or education loans. But the college offers scholarships and being a UGC grants college, various government schemes are also offered to the students to cut off the fees.
Campus Life
The campus life is awesome. The location f the college lets you enjoy your college life to the fullest. the campus has various labs like computer lab, chemistry lab, botany lab, etc. there is a botanical park in the extended campus and a fishery containing a varied species of fishes and water insects. The gender ratio is almost equal. students come from various regions and provide a wide diversity of learning and cultures
Alumni/Alumna
Though the college alumni are not that much present, they come during seminars and workshops. The seniors are very very helpful and friendly. The campus has a very strict anti-ragging policy.
Admission
Asutosh College is one of the oldest institutions in Kolkata. Established in 1916, it is affiliated with the University of Calcutta of and boasts of the best faculties in the region. The college offers Economics Honours course with mathematics and statistics as pass papers; a combination that only very few colleges in Kolkata offer.In addition, you get a Bsc degree in economics whereas the premier institutions like Jadavpur University and Presidency offer BA degrees.The admission procedure is transparent and strictly based on merit.No admission test is taken.
Faculty
Asutosh college offers one of the best faculties in the Economics department. Through regular routine classes that may not be held the professors are helpful and try their best to impart their knowledge. All the professors are highly educated and have been in this profession for years.Most of the professors are permanent and the temporary professors are mostly pursuing their PhDs.
