SMIT is a college where faculties are really helpful and the hostel facility is also appreciable which every student wants.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is really good here. We have 8 semesters and in each semester we have 2 sessional exams, 2 quizes followed by semester exam. Due to these 2 sessionals, the pressure feels light during the semester as almost a bulk of huge is syllabus is already covered in the sessionals.
Placement Experience
The placement is almost 97% here. Many big companies like Microsoft, Dell, Amazon, etc come here for recruitment. The average placement package is also good.
College Events
The main big event celebrated here is Kaalrav which is the annual festival of the college and is celebrated in the last week of February of first week of March. Besides this, we have TechAdrishta which is the technical fest and is celebrated in the last of March. Along with these, we have different coding competitions, hackathons, debates, sports, etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The overall fee can be paid annually or in installment. The course fee for Computer Science and Engineering is Rs.265000 per year and hostel fees is Rs. 38500 and mess fees is Rs.77000. There is no additional fees to be paid. Even there are also some scholarships.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, the college offers scholarships. A student scoring 80% and above and having 6.5 cgpa and above throughout the semesters will get 20% concession on course fees and scoring 90% and above and having 6.5 cgpa and above throughout the semesters will get 30% concession on course fees.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is good. People from all over the country India and even from abroad too come here for pursuing there career which maintains diversity in culture. There are many clubs like Chromatics(singing club), Udaan and Illusion(dance clubs), Reverbs(debating and literary clubs) etc. Regular workshops are held and some international conferences are also held which provide certificates to participated students.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is good. We have a double room and a single room facility. The attached washroom is there in every room. 24 hours wifi and hot water facility is there. The hostel attendants are very helpful. Room cleaning and laundry facility is also there.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior students are really helpful. They guide us in studies. We have an alumni network and every year an alumni meet is held.
Admission
I had appeared for the MAHEOET exam after my class 12. After getting the result my rank was almost 13k and then counseling was there. The counseling happened in 3-4 places. I went to SMIT and I opted for Computer Science and Engineering branch. Before coming for counseling I had to do a demand draft. The factors that made me choose this college-good faculty, campus.
Faculty
The faculties are all friendly. They are helpful and guide us a lot. They motivate us for placements and also for researching. We can approach to them as many times until our doubt is fully clear. They are really hardworking and are always prepared before coming to teach in class.
