Remarks
The college is as good as it can get. But the only bad review is the cleanliness of the washrooms. I hope they have improved that. Teachers are helpful at times of need, so don't worry.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum from since I was in college has changed due to the introduction of semester-format of study. But from what I know, it is pretty much fair and very relevant. The exams are wholly based on syllabus and out of syllabus questions are very rare. You need a few reference books and you'll be good.
Placement Experience
There is no such placement program in this course or in the college in general. It is a govt. college and no placement is provided.
College Events
There is quite a few event which was celebrated in the college. Like we had our annual fest, freshers party, basanta utsab, saraswati puj, a picnic and a few other occasions like blood donation camp, college foundation, teacher's day, etc. The cultural programs were mostly organised by students. And were very diverse. But the fest was the best.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure was very much feasible. Being a government based college under the University of Calcutta, our college did not charge a high amount of fees. It was a minimum 3000 (approx) including the exam fees, admission fees, tution fees, lab fees, library fees, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
I need not opt for any education loan or scholarship. But there is a way to get a scholarship for the needy. The income statement of your family has to be provided for that.
Campus Life
The gender ratio was acceptable. We had around 10:6 for men and women in our department. And our college campus life was amazing. We had so much fun and enjoyed every day. Apart from classes, there are common rooms separate for girls and boys. There are grounds for playing. There is even a storeroom where you can get course-related books.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are quite helpful. But I do suggest to stay clear of any political disputes. Other than that seniors are good.
Admission
The first step is the online admission, followed by a call for verification of the hard copy of your documents. Then you need to face an interview, it is not a one-on-one interview but more like a mass introduction. If clear of the documents, you get your fee card and you become a part of the college.
Faculty
We had almost regular lectures. Around 2-3 per day. Teachers were qualified and taught well. Most of them were around the age of 40-60. They had quite a lot of knowledge.
