Reviewing My College

Positive remarks:- 1. Great infrastructure 2. Very good placement record 3. Great faculties and course curriculum 4. Excellent transport facility Negative remarks- 1. I have heard from the students staying in hostel that hostel facility and food is not good. 2. Environment around the college is not that great.

My college has become an autonomy college now so the course curriculum has changed slightly in comparison to MAKAUT. Now the courses are more refined and designed according to the convenience of the students. There are 2 unit tests one of 15 marks and other of 30 marks respectively along with the semester exam. U also have practical and viva exams for the core subjects. Overall the course curriculum and exam pattern is well designed to give maximum profit to the students.

The placement and job opportunities records in my college is excellent. Every year around 70-80 companies visit our college to recruit the students. Top MNCs like Capgemini , Mindtree , ITC Infotech , Hexaware Pvt. Ltd. , Mphasis, Zensar technologies etc. and many other companies visit our college every year. However intership opportunities in my college are quite less. I personally didn't get any internship during my college tenure.

There are lots of events hosted by our college every year like cultural fest, Tesseract , Freshers program. Other than that sports events like inter-college football and cricket tournaments, volleyball tournaments etc. are also hosted.

The fee structure of our college is just like other private engineering colleges around 4.5 lakhs for 4 years excluding food, accommodation and antly extra expenses. The semester fee increases by ?600 every semester. Overall the fee structure is slightly in expensive side but can't complain after all it's a private college.

As far as I know you don't get any good scholarship or loan facility from the college. But you definitely get concession in your semester fee if you are a single girl child. Also if your are minority i.e. if your are from Sikh or muslim religion you get concession in your fee too.

Talking about labs it well maintained and equipments are also up-to-date. You can also engage in all kinds of sports of your choice like football , cricket, volleyball , carrom board etc. Sports facility in our college is great. Our college ground is quite big so you will enjoy playing outdoor games.

The alumni network and senior students are very good. You will hardly face any raging from their side. The senior students are very friendly and treat their juniors like younger brother. If you have any problem regarding academics or anything approach them and they are ready to help. They don't show any partility among students and treat everyone equally.

I got admission in this college through AMPAI rank. Basically AMPAI is an exam conducted by JIS group to get admission in colleges that are under them where GURUNANAK INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY is one of them. I filled up the form for AMPAI exam online and gave the exam on the scheduled date. I secured around 700 rank in the exam after which I was called for the councelling. I went for the councelling verified all my documents after which I got a slip form their side. I visited the college with all the necessary documents and that slip after which finally I got admission in the college.

According to me the faculty of my college is top notch. Teachers are well educated having knowledge not only in their respective subjects but also in other subjects. Also the faculties are ready to clear your doubt anytime anywhere. They are very friendly with the students and give their best for the students.
