Remarks
This college still today stands to be among the first choice of every student in the hooghly district and 2nd in the Burdwan University. The only negative part is that this college has a very high political presence in the campus. Though the present government said that they oppose such strong political holds in colleges but still this words has not been kept.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is very good. It comes under the university of burdwan. The exam is semester based. The course is of 3 years i.e, 6 semesters. Each semester is of 6 months. The exam consists of practical and theory papers. The gradation is out of 10 points.
Placement Experience
B.Sc. courses will not directly provide you any job. These r course which leads to pursuing M.Sc. course in university. However one can go for various government jobs which require B.Sc. as their minimum qualification.
College Events
Firstly as you join the college their will be a departmental freshers welcome event as well as a union organised central freshers welcome programme. Then various other programme like teachers day, independence day, etc is celebrated in the campus. Annual feast is also organised by the union in the college. The saraswati pujo in the college is well known among everybody in this locality.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure is very feasible. The maina reason being that it is a governmental organisation. So expenses are very nominal as next to nothing compared to a private college. Also several scholarship r avaliable for under privileged children.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every governmental fellowship are available in the college. INSPIRE fellowship program is a very attractive scholarship. it is given based on 12 board exam marks. The scholarship gives ? 5000 per month to the students for 3 years
Campus Life
Labs are a bit old. But the infrastructure is well organised. Since it is a governmental organisation the lab are always well equiaoed with esential equipments. Sports is also well takem care off with organisation of various sports events through out the academic calendar.
Hostel Facilities
I have not opted for hostel as i live nearby. But as heard the hostel r decent and i will say it needs modernization. Since the college is vey old, the infrastructure are now getting renovated. I think thehostel are also in their schedule.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni organisation is very helpful. They are wodely spresd across the globe. Very few colleges have such enriched alumni association as this college. The alumni association meet takes place almost every year once.
Admission
This college lets you to apply online via their website for a limited period of time. Then they generate a merit list. Then counselling occurs in the college. After that the selecred candidiates are required to take admission I got admission by merit list.
Faculty
The faculties are very good. They are recruited via WBPSC. They will help you in every doubt you have in understanding the subject.the faculy is highly efficient in class management and proper guidance providing.
